Discussion: The Rose Garden and White House happenings: Voters have to make a choice

I had a whole Algaes For Flowernon thing in my head, but it didn't work. Instead I will leave you with this.

Flowers for Q-Anon.

Discussion: The Rose Garden and White House happenings: Voters have to make a choice

Can someone please explain to me why Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are the lead United States negotiators involved in the talks with Iran in Switzerland?   Yeah, I know they've been involved before but why?  Why not our Secretary of State or one of our cadre of foreign service professionals?   I realize that Trump has named Witkoff a "special envoy" but, to my understanding, Kushner has no formal capacity other than being Trump's son-in-law and associate grifter (see his dealings with Saudi Arabia and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman).

Discussion: Off leash dogs

This is not an animal control issue. It's a police issue.

The animal owner is breaking the law.

That being said, Maplewood PD refuses to enforce the leash law in Memorial Park.

It feels like the Reflecting Pool is doing a perfect job of reflecting the Administration.

And there it is, Sir Keir will go back to being the MP for the district I grew up in and it's highly likely Burnham will become the 8th PM in 10 years. What a shitshow.

Discussion: National Day Observations

Hey folks. Pucker up. It’s National Kissing Day.

Also National Onion Rings day. Those seem like an unfortunate confluence of observations.

Discussion: What Is Your Pet Peeve?

A long time pet peeve of mine has been people using their lawn sprinkler to water their lawn during a drought when most of us are looking to conserve what water we have,  A higher level of peeveness is reserved for those who water the sidewalk and/or the roadway with their sprinkler, gifting passersby with a complementary shower.  Today I encountered a level of peeveness I haven't seen before, an unattended lawn sprinkler placed in the middle of the sidewalk, creating both a trip hazard and a water hazard in the heat of the day during a severe drought condition.  I hope I never encounter this again.

Discussion: Looking for someone to touch up exterior paint

While you might not be happy with the painting crew you used, their 2025 job should still be under warranty?

When Rutgers painted our house (a long time ago), they came back the following year to do some touch-ups.
