The Rose Garden and White House happenings: Listening to voters’ concerns

Immigration policy may be complicated and people can disagree about it but your hero's day to day language and behavior is all too simple.  It's funny, it seems like every time you try to play devil's advocate for him, he says or does something, or some past word or deed of his comes to light, that makes it a literal task.  You are an advocate of the devil.

Mtierney, of the porn stars that we know Donald cheated on Melania with, which would you say is your favorite?

I see your point. With the porn stars literally coming out of the wood work, how is one to keep track of them all.

wash time!

As for the question of hygiene, I do have to admit that the more I am exposed to the puerile filthiness of YOUR President, a man who would celebrate the birth of his son AND his one year wedding anniversary by having a $130,000  threesome with porn stars, I do kind of want to shower. I can only speculate how you, a woman who has embraced this moral cesspool, must feel.  By all means, wash away

No it's not. It's simple.

Trump has turned the U.S. into a place where, for the first time in history, people are running away from it.

Good job!

Oh!  Is that what she was referring to?  I never open her malware bait links.

Data hygiene is important.

Aren't Haitians almost all Catholics?

I laughed at the headline because it's such a cliché.

The following is a quote from an Italian Immigrant over 100 years ago which is on display at Ellis Island. ( I may not have it exact).

Before I came to America They told me that the streets in America were paved with gold.

When I got here I learned three things:

1. The streets were not paved with gold.

2. The streets were not paved.

3. They expected me to pave the streets.

Unbelievable.

This thread was started to vilify the government.

Not so. It began with the politicized rewrite of the events leading to the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi. HRC lost in 2016 due to events ignited in 2012. In that this thread politically follows what is happening in Washington, its focus is government.

You believe that and I believe,

Our current issue, actually,  is the orchestration of hate for one person, the president, by angry liberals.

Admittedly, DJT is a larger than life target, but he is who he is. And he is our President.

It is the orchestration of hate for one person, Hillary Clinton, by angry Conservatives.

And Hillary Clinton was and is certainly " a larger than life target" as former First Lady, Senator and Secretary of State. In fact the President is still talking about her.

You and I disagree and you rarely answer my questions. But I will try again.

Do you at least understand my point of view?

It’s been complicated a very long time...

The photo in this article recalled my mom telling me that when she left Austria and arrived in NY in 1911, they were checked and if they found pink eye, you were back on the boat!

Wow.  That sounds stupid.  Lets make sure our policy going forward does include moronic regulations like that one.

Looks fishy —with Durbin’s track record. Six people in the room, only one Dem heard the remark?

Yes, only one Dem heard it. Of course, there was only one Dem in the room. The Republicans heard it, too, but some are hedging and saying it was "s---house."

What's fishy is more than one Republican that was in the room said they didn't hear anything. (Though some of them changed their minds later. That's not fishy either.)

Look, if he didn't say it, those Repubs would have been on CNN within 30 seconds denouncing the news story.

But gee, there was nothing but crickets.

Well, one would wish the world was perfect. However, the reality

And finally, we have to stop giving a pass to the people — whether elected official or average voter — who support and defend his racism. If you defend racism you are part of the racism. It doesn’t matter how much you say that you’re an egalitarian, how much you say that you are race blind, how much you say that you are only interested in people’s policies and not their racist polemics.

As the brilliant James Baldwin once put it: “I can’t believe what you say, because I see what you do.” When I see that in poll after poll a portion of Trump’s base continues to support his behavior, including on race, I can only conclude that there is no real daylight between Trump and his base. They are part of his racism.

Lindsey Graham also confirmed Trumps bigoted outburst. That said, you have managed to ignore the President's taped confession that he sexually assaulted women for more than a year so its not like you have a particularly open mind. If you don't care that he grabs women by the pussy, you probably aren't going to be concerned that he thinks Africans and Hatians come out of shitholes.

Huh?

Why do you find it so difficult to engage in dialogue? I simply asked you if you understood my position.

sorry, Lost, that you feel that I don’t answer your questions or do not understand your positions. It’s a bummer, I know, since absolutely no one here really cares to hear my views either. I feel your pain.

In my own situation, my answers to many posters who question me do not satisfy and/or are not even read! How else to explain how some folks ask the same  questions over and over again?

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/16/us/politics/trump-health-exam-doctor-cognitive-test.html?ref=todayspaper

I watched the press question the doctor re POTUS’ health exam — how many ways can a reporter try to get the answer they wanted to hear, rather than the answer given? Some reporters were downright petulant — bordering on angry.

DJT is the first President ever to have had a cognitive exam, accordingly he scored 30 out of 30.

I remember the days when the POTUS having an affair with a porn star while his wife is at home with their 4-month-old would generate major headlines.

So why don't you just answer?

You know, one of the difficulties historians of the Third Reich have with reconstructing the history of the early 30s is deciphering the motivations of ordinary, seemingly decent Germans who supported Hitler and the Nazi Party.

It would seem to me that you have a tremendous opportunity here to prevent a recurrence of that sort of problem.  Tell us what you think!  Tell us what it is that drives you, by your own description an religious woman, to support a delusional megalomaniac, a bigot who threatens to drown the world in nuclear hellfire.  Explain to us and to history what your motivation is for choosing a course so at odds with normal standards of human decency.

Generations to come will thank you.

I respond to your actual views all the time.  You just don't like my responses, so you ignore them.  Which is your prerogative of course.  After all, this is your blog, not mine.  But it's not honest to pretend I'm not hearing or responding to you, because I am.

Right.  Plus, the thing everyone is ignoring is that this was just a dementia test.  Just because he isn't senile (or so this doctor says) doesn't mean that he isn't crazier than a $h!thouse rat.
