Underrated bands of 60's and 70's

The Guess Who, the Turtles and Three Dog Night can take you on a pretty good ride.

I made a Spotify playlist called "AM Radio" that's loaded with this trio...

These guys weren't around for too long, but this was one of my favorites.  Saw them in a small club in NY in 1967.  They were the headlined act but were opened by a little known band at the time that blew them out of the water.  That band went by the name of "The Doors".

Query: If a band gets blown out of the water by the Doors, how underrated can they be?

(FTR, Al Kooper fan here.)

Don't really understand your question, but I remember they performed  poorly that night leaving a lot of disgruntled fans.  Maybe that was the beginning of their end collectively.

"Projections" is a favorite of mine. If you listen to any of the live recordings of The Blues Project they sound as if they never played with each other before. This would make them only "recording" artists.

My pal Geoff Cooper (AKA Dr. Mabuse, D.O.A.) put his LA-based group on vinyl. Check 'em out on TouTube...

-s.

I feel a Super Session coming on.

Yes Can.  The Equals too.  Early Eddy Grant.  Early integrated.  Early inspiration for some Clash.  It gets better at about 0:44...
