Ugh - sad news from neighbor about her dog

In all sincerity, I would happily sign that petition and circulate it in my neighborhood if someone wants to help me coordinate it. I'm not in that area, but it's a town-wide isdue and threat to us all

IMHO, the dog is not the "repeat offender" -- the owner is the repeat offender.

I agree but you cant put the owner down.

The dog (pit) owner's homeowners insurance company should be contacted asap. My guess is that they will revoke the insurance policy unless the owner gets rid of the dog.

Why weren't the police involved? This is very confusing, but it sounds really unsafe.

Likeley just list it as "excluded".

If I were the boss, the dog OWNER would be required to go door-to-door with a petition to keep the dog -- but could only ask for a signature after explaining in graphic detail (with photos and/or film as well as police, veterinarian, and emergency room reports) what he/she allowed the dog to do.

I just can't get over the cruelty of making the victim petition for removal of the perpetrator.

Strange that this tragic incident hasn't been reported on any of the local news sites. Last I checked, it wasn't in the police blotter, either. The public needs to know about this vicious dog. If the pitbull is still being walked on Valley, other people and dogs are being endangered.

See page 1 - the police were involved.

@Eliz - this is why I asked. Are the police involved in this incident or not?

I had heard this dog was a repeat offender but the last incident wasn't reported to the police. Maybe that is why a petition is needed

The police weren't involved in an earlier incident - unfortunately!!! People need to report these things, even if the owners plead with you not to, or promise it won't happen again.

What was the "other incident? " I believe I saw this dog dragging its owner down valley near CHS and am horrified he's still in the area. Can (should) I call the police or health officer?
