Trump coming to Wildwood on Jan 28

10A allows states to regulate certain issues.  Under current jurisprudence, NJ law controls firearms laws and regulations for a rally in NJ (even in Wildwood NJ).  Generally, NJ law only allows a person to transport their firearm(s) to lawful places (such as a firearms range, firearms repair shop, hunting area) and then they must return home with the firearm immediately after completing the lawful activity (no diversions).   A political rally does not seem to be a lawful destination  for firearms.  Let me know your thoughts.

I was asking a general question.  If Bob the Nazi wants to bring his AK-47 with banana clips to a Trump Rally in Talibama or some other CSA state, is he allowed to do so?

Imagine waiting in line for up to 48 hours in the middle of winter, having to pee, having to eat, having to sleep, to hear a slurring demonstrably unrepentant serial thief, cheater and liar while fervently believing that he is actually caring for you. You go home oddly exhilarated feeling that you have witnessed history (that much is true). Nothing has changed but it matters not, -the very definition of idolatry.

We in this country have abased ourselves on the altar of wealth. It’s understandable how people wish to achieve power over others but what is truly amazing is the willingness of victims of bullying to collude in that corruption. Every bully has a following of toadies all too willing to do his bidding if only they will be spared.

As to abandoned beach chairs, the rules also stated in the list of forbidden items that “explosives” were also not allowed inside. It would seem that that would be unnecessary to mention and yet there it was. Beach chairs and C-4 not allowed. Also do not bring in any ability for cognitive reasoning and feel free to discard your food containers on the boardwalk.

Irony or hypocrisy?

Politicians who tout your right to carry weapons, in schools, libraries, etc., are also the ones who make very sure that laws are passed or regulations exist to prevent carry where they work - the Capitol, congressional offices, the White House, federal office buildings, rallies, etc.

Ok so your POV is that you are using "moral decay", "stains", "smell", "$5000 for sanitization" and "infested" as mere metaphors against those with whom you disagree.   This interpretation of your POV is based on the figurative "stains" left from "moral decay."

Maybe, I am wrong and you literally mean that the Trumpkins are best described by: "moral decay", "stains", "smell", "$5000 for sanitization" and "infested".

I am still trying to understand your POV.  Let me know if I am getting warm.

Would you characterize your views as a disagreement with White supremacists and Nazis?

You referred to Trump supporters as people whom Klinker disagreed.  Trump supporters - particularly those who go to his "rallies" seem to be a lot of folks who could be described as White supremacists and Nazis.  My question to you is (assuming that you are neither a White supremacist or a Nazi) would you characterize the difference in your views to those of Trump supporters described above as being a "disagreement?"

I have no first hand knowledge of who goes to such rallies (and whether they are members of the riff-raff).

The conditions are probably best described as “deplorable”.

 Excerpt from link above:

"Rally-goers were allowed to bring chairs as they waited in line — some for up to 48 hours before the event — but they weren't allowed to bring them inside the venue [emphasis added].

A better statement would be:  "chairs, blankets etc. were left behind because ticket-holders were prohibited from entering the rally with such items."

============================================

Your post is misleading (those waiting had no choice but to abandon their items in order to lawfully enter the rally). Which begs the question:  why the misleading posting regarding trash generated due to security rules barring items such as chairs and blankets from the Convention Center?

Is it deplorable that security rules often create more garbage and waste (have you ever looked at the trash bins before the TSA checkpoints at Liberty Airport (AKA "EWR")?

The garbage and left-behinds weren't left in trash bins, so your airport analogy is ridiculous.

There is such a thing as putting your trash in a bin, not leaving it on the ground. Going back to retrieve the chair, etc. you left behind is also an option that anybody who bothers can choose.

That there are thousands of Americans who spent a frigid night, curled up in a blanket, needing to pee and eat, to witness a Trump rally, right here in New Jersey, is a proverbial  stick in a liberal eye. So, the discussion turns to crowd debris!

You think it's a "stick in a liberal eye?

hahahahahahahaha

we think they're idiots.

and now we know they're sloppy, uncaring, debris producing idiots.

what a surprise.

It's not a "stick in the eye", it's confirmation that, even here in NJ, you will find people willing to cheer lies and hate speech.

yeah, I shouldn't treat the phenomenon so dismissively, because it's really kind of scary. These people are soulless. It's bad enough to sit in an arena and listen to Trump's 2-hour hate - but to wait for many hours for the privilege to do so is beyond the pale.

Wanton destruction and sloth are your smears for those who have a different POV.  Such smears were standard course years ago for different groups than today.  But, the smear technique is the same.  So your theory is that the rally goers were so craven that they did not place their garbage in the garbage cans.  Is it possible that there were other causes (such as not enough garbage cans, lack of timely garbage can pickup, etc.).

Take on the garbage of the following:  Eagle parade fans, OWS protesters and the Standing Rock pipeline protesters.  And then get back to me,

Eagles fans left a mess after their 2018 parade.  See:  https://www.gettyimages.com/detail/news-photo/fans-walk-past-a-garbage-can-during-festivities-on-february-news-photo/915892046

Occupy Wall Street folks left plenty of garbage behind.  See:  https://critinq.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/degregoris-2.jpg

Standing Rock pipeline protest also left tons of garbage.  See:  https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2017/feb/15/north-dakota-feds-address-garbage-left-at-pipeline/

Even an Eagles fan has to laugh at an attempt to explain behavior by citing Eagles fans.

That’s a rookie move you’d never catch a veteran like Steve make.

Sports get a pass here for slovenliness!

Personally, I have no wish to put "a stick in the eye" of anyone and don't understand the tertiary delight that so many Trump supporters seem to take in that sort of rhetoric except that it has now become directly derivative of Trump's infectious juvenile violent language.

We can see it employed constantly on web sites such as "RedState.com" where no headline is complete without using such flowery adverbs as "burning down, scorching, bashing, triggering etc etc". Its' become so pathetic particularly as such language adds nothing to support the users' own positions yet it seems somehow is expected to pass as a debate ending point. It does not. It only further confirms the dark portrait of those congratulating themselves with false victory.

If I can't change minds then I hope only to change policy through change of leadership through elections.

The rally goers chose to put up with those conditions for a single night, and were free to stay or go as they please, in order to lend their support to a man who forces these conditions on others as a matter of policy. Tell me, what do you think conditions are like for those making legal claims to asylum at our borders? Such people, admittedly, are merely fearing for their lives, not engaged in something as important as brandishing proverbial sticks against political opponents, but I suppose your own stick is large enough to render such people invisible.

Those are not answers; they are denials and deflections.  Seems that you've studied well under your master and are projecting your own deficiencies onto others (e.g., "[a]re you an alter-ego of another MOL poster?").

To suggest that you have no first hand knowledge of who goes to such rallies is to deny reality.  One need not be physically present to observe audio and video of the folks showing up to these rallies to form an opinion.  Clearly, you've offered your (and proeasdf's) opinion on many topics on which you lack "first-hand knowledge."

I stumbled across the rally on TV and although I intended to click on, I got hypnotized by the string of outrageous lies that Trump was spouting. Disturbing to see all women behind him laughing as he did his fake news rant with his finger pointing at the media. Was even one of them offended by the mistreatment of the female journalist by Mike Pompeo? Did they care that Trump praised Pompeo in a recent conference and that Trump's new defender, Dershowitz, laughed enthusiastically and slapped Pompeo on the back?

The crowd broke into ecstatic cheers as he talked about the great health care he had given them. Did I miss something? And the wall that he built despite the obstructionist Democrats. Was anyone in the crowd aware that they had the House and Senate for 2 years? Who cared, they knew the words to the song, build that wall, build that wall.

Just to make sure they were in full tilt boogie riot mood, he ranted that the Dems supported late term abortion with graphic detail.

.The garbage strewn outside the convention center was a mirror image of the garbage spewed by the trash collector in chief.

Your points are very valid, blatantly obvious. Cheering health care that Trump did not give them. Decrying that the Democrats stopped the wall even though the Republicans with their Republican president had congress for two years.

Yet they do not make the connections. Which convinces me they are brain dead.

The red states have the highest, ridiculously high opioid addiction rates. Family values. If they had a drug test, besides the gun check, I'm sure his rally venues would be mostly empty.

I think that for many of the people who got to Trump rallies it is just entertainment.

The closest analogy is "Professional" Wrestling.

Do you think that Eagles fans are responsible for over-flowing garbage cans near the parade route?

I don't think the Eagles fans were the primary cause of the overflowing garbage cans.  If you think that was my point then you are wrong.

When the system temporarily breaks down - what do you do?

Garbage cans near the Eagles parade route are already overfilled > I would go to the next nearby garbage can> next garbage can is also overfilled > now what to do?

Another example of the system temporarily breaking down follows:  red traffic light does not change to green after say 5 minutes > what to do? .> me wait for another 2 minutes - still red > conclude that the traffic light is not operating properly and proceed through the intersection using my best common sense.  Others may wait for only 3 minutes before coming to the conclusion that the red light is inoperative.  While others may wait 10 minutes.  Such a break down is likely create a bottle-neck at a minimum.

Inoperative traffic lights have been occurring since traffic lights were invented.  Yet NJ has no statute, law or reg that I know of on what to do when the traffic light is inoperative (IOW the system temporarily breaks down).  It seems that the legislature expects each person to use their own common sense to deal with this issue.

What is the correct thing to do when the garbage pickup system breaks down in a parking lot next to a Convention Center?

When the system breaks down, we generally don't blame those who were negatively affected by the break-down.  Unless, the intention is to post pictures without context which are then used to reinforce existing prejudice and bigotry of those posting (and, in this case, their readers).
