The Fight for Kherson

I thought there were no journalists allowed so as not to give away position?   Have to do the PR though, right?

In case you don’t know… the Ukrainian soldiers have cell phones… they don’t need your caliber of “journalists”

Yes, but I thought they were not supposed to give away their positions?  That was the reason given for no journalists.  This clearly gives away a position.  In fact, I heard that the Russians cane back and reclaimed this site.

On another thread, nohero posted an article, which sounds questionable but let's pretend it's not--where solders sent pictures of themselves to hackers.  How is this any different?

The difference is the Russian soldiers have to use the Ukrainian network for their phones to work inside Ukraine. The Ukrainian tech guys have been scamming and catfishing these young Russians who are imbibing copious amounts of vodka in order to escape their reality, that they might not see their families back home again. From the very beginning of the invasion, they were being duped, looking for beautiful Ukrainian girls…

The Ukrainian soldiers don’t have this problem… they are allowed to take pictures and only post them to telegram. And of course they are censored for obvious security reasons. I CV know you won’t use the word “war” but it’s a war going on. It’s kill or be killed. You won’t know what it’s like to fight for your very existence…go back to your “sources” with your coffee and bagel…

It's different. The Russian soldiers are sending pictures with embedded location information (it's what your phone does when you take pictures with it). It's the digital equivalent of standing up, waving a flag and shouting "Here I am!"

Putin is so desperate for manpower, he’s forcing Ukrainian boys and older men to be drafted into the Russian army to fight fellow Ukrainians. I’m guessing he’s sending out the subpoenas to the Russian speaking separatists who were happy to be ruled by Russia… be careful what you wish for..

Any indication that he will be asking his team members in Maplewood to fly over to Ukraine and join his army?

Nah. Keeping them where they're most useful.

Except they don't seem to be making much progress, unless pissing people off counts.

The subpoena comes in the mail. Pablo and nana might disappear in the coming weeks…

Breaking news! This just in! Russian forces have completely abandoned Izyum in the last hour! That’s huge. Because it’s where the rail lines connect from Russia to the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Kherson is gonna fall this week!

They abandoned Izyum because it did not fit in with what they were trying to do.  They decided it was not worth the trouble.

The Kherson offensive is over.

You mean they took over Izyum by accident? Did they not know what they were trying to do when they took it over?

Right,  They thought it was going to be a good place to launch some more advances from  but it turned out not to be so great.  It has forests and some other problematic geography.  So the plans changed.

Because this is a special military operation and not a war, they have limits on how many military they can use and they decided this was not the best use of troops.   They had other priorities.

It’s not really a war.

That’s a cruel and insulting thing to say.

I saved it at the place it starts (10:45).

It's a technicality.  The US does the same thing.

This is what you wrote, as an excuse for Putin- “Because this is a special military operation and not a war, they have limits on how many military they can use”.
That’s not just calling it a “technicality”.

It's not an excuse.  It's just what the Russians call this. They have their reasons.  They don't care what you think. They speak in Russian by the way. They may not view this the way you do. You do know that right?   Is that OK for you or are you going to complain about that too?

You can get as mad as you want but it's a waste of time because it's not something you can control and it's not the hill you should be dying on.

It’s illegal in Russia to call it a war in Russian.

I'm not disputing that, but I've heard the head of RT call it a war when they were talking to Lavrov.  No one came in and took her away.  Anyway, not a good law, but are we really at war with Russia because they are meanie beanies when it comes to discussing this war?

No.  We are at war with Russia because they threaten our exceptionalism and we would like another pass at their resources as we had in the 1990's with Yeltsin.  What we really hate about Putin is that he won't be a US puppet, not because he has a draconian rule about vocabulary.

And when you think about it, we have no problem calling it a war, but if you try to say that it's a proxy war started when the US backed a coup in 2014, -- good luck.  Any mainstream media "journalist" who talked like that would lose their job.

I watched at 10:54 - again you are basing your "facts" of Alex's stream of consciousness - like all of you pro Moscow tactics!

It's amazing how taken you are by this con.  Everything Russia did has been on purpose - they're geniuses!!  LOL

Remember when they predicted that Russia would never invade Russia?  LOLOILOLOLOLOLOLOL

At least he actually acknowledged that no one knows what's going on.  There I stopped it.

Yet, you keep presenting this like it's realty and any anti-vlad article is essentially russophobia,

Please tell us - who is doing most of the shelling, who invaded Ukraine and what is the current level of denazification.

Mainstream journalists who ignore obvious facts (such as two presidential elections and parliamentary elections since 2014) and adopt Putin's false narrative are pretty worthless as journalists.

You already know what happened--the Russians left.   Are you disputing that?

As for why they left, no one really knows for sure.  So opinion is all we have.  Any new source stating the reasons for what happened as fact is not legit.

The Duran have been discussing this since yesterday, but I thought this one was a good one to post.

Do you disagree with him?  If so, why?
