Lainey's Legacy (in honor of my Mom who passed from ALS) is happy to invite you to their Fifth Annual ROCK To Defeat ALS Fundraiser on Saturday at the South Orange Elks Lodge. There will be 2 bands, a Silent Auction, Tricky Tray, Door Prizes, and free food, including Pizza from Bunny's. This is always such a great time, and is in Support of the The ALS Association Greater NY Chapter. Please come out to support this very worthy cause. In Memory of Elaine K. Marlowe. Mrs. Elaine Marlowe was a resident of South Orange, New Jersey from 1947 until her death from Lou Gehrig’s Disease in 1983. A beloved Children’s Librarian for many years at South Orange Public Library; Mrs. Marlowe was also active with Our Lady of Sorrows church as the CCD Principal, a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and a Director of CCD Children’s plays. She was a Community Theater actress at The Baird in South Orange, Theater in the Round at Seton Hall, The Strollers in Maplewood, Whole Theatre in Montclair, where she reprised her role as Violet Venable in Suddenly Last Summer, and Actor's Cafe Theater in East Orange, where she co-starred as Linda Loman in “Death of a Salesman”. She also played in many other venues when she acted for Yate's Theater including the Gristmill Playhouse, every public school in Newark, and Belmar Convention Center, and was drama co-teacher for the Pied Pipers Theater Group, based in The Barn at Seton Hall. Additionally, Elaine was involved in Village politics in South Orange, and was a Cub Scouts Den Mother. This is always such an awesome night. Please come out and help us PARTY for a GOOD CAUSE! This weather report is gonna suck for tonight, but the South Orange Elks Lodge is nice and big and roomy and dry, and the Music is awesome, prizes are fabulous, food is yummy, bar is open.
