Men: Where do you keep your wallet?

Even though we all know it isnt.

I was already a believer, but I read an article recently arguing that a sportcoat with all its hidden pockets makes the European carry all/black leather thing with a strap (to keep up the Seinfeld references) stylishly redundant. It's also a lot harder to steal while running down the street. And it saves your pants from getting a wallet-worn hole in the butt.

I see you're here for an argument.

man bag oh oh

+1 but this is only during the work week, cause it also carries my gym clothes, snacks, tablet, and wallet. LOL, that sounds like a lot of stuff.

Otherwise wallet is in front pocket if I am wearing a coat, back pocket if no coat. But my wallet is bare,

2 credit cards, 1 ATM\debit card, drivers license, medical insurance card, Turtle Back zoo card grin, NJ Transit pass, metro card. I don't carry cash, charge everything and pay it off at when the bill comes.

Front pocket -- small wallet containing only driver license, car insurance and reg cards, work ID, two cc, medical insurance card, emergency responder id, $0 in cash -- nothing else

Simple and effective .. Why carry a huge wallet, it's a burden and really not needed

Back right pocket except when I drive, then wedged in the space between the seat and center console.

SCOTUS recently granted full legal protection to members of the FPWC community. While I disagree with this, as a man's proper wallet carrying place has been the back pocket for millennia, I will abide by the law of the land.

Putting it in your wife's purse is an affront to nature. I support a constitutional amendment banning this practice.

Here! Here! (hear! hear!?)

But what of the penalties for a man holding or being asked to hold said purse?

Some days this is all I have with me. The one card to rule them all...

Wherever my S/O can't find itgrin. Just joking...

Back pocket unless I'm somewhere sketchy, then maybe the front. In the car at the beach; in my backpack at the pool. Recently slimmed down to one of these and LOVE IT:

Front pocket -anti pick-pocket.

BTW, I once had a pair of prescription glasses stolen from me in Victoria Station. WTF?

If you go wallet in the front pocket, where do you put your cellphone and keys?

It is time to ditch the wallet, leave it in your briefcase, throw out all the junk and use a small wallet with the few things you need occaisionally. Get a Phone case that holds you license and two cards.

I'm a lady and I want one of those wallets. Thank you for sharing the link

Cellphone in left front pocket. Keys - 3 keys and a bottle opener - in right front pocket with wallet.

ETA: Don't carry car key(s) everywhere with me. Those things add bulk.

BTW The other day I asked my wife why women go around loaded with two bags and I got a dirty look and was ignored? Idea for another thread?

Front pocket

1) Amex

2) TD debit card

3) 3x Business cards

4) 1x Wallet Ninja

5) 3" length of stripped copper wire roughly the thickness of a wooden match

6) car insurance card

7) License

8) 4x pictures of ms. Freeway

9) Pharmacy technician state reg cards for TX CA and NJ (keep them current because walgreens costco and cvs still hire me as a consultant from time to time)

10) ancient list of emergency contacts

11) 1 comp card for Caesars, Trop, revel (collectors item) and SLS Las Vegas

12) Chase Visa

13) 2x Texas State Quarters

14) Unique Photo customer loyalty card

The other front pocket?

The fact that women's clothing often lacks pockets is an outrage. I carry a driver's license, work ID, train monthly, credit card and Metro card all in a tiny ID case, but usually there's no place to put it. So consider yourself lucky, whichever pocket you use!

Carrying one's wallet in the back pocket has been noted to be bad for one's back. Also, I don't like that lump when I sit or drive. I see guys with huge wallets on their ass and it looks so weird to me. I don't ever put my wallet back there - unless I'm running from car to house and have no other place to put it for those few minutes. I put it in a jacket pocket or carry it. Or leave it home. Sometimes when I'm going out I just put cash, Visa, license and registration in my pocket and that's all. Now that I think of it, why don't I do that awways?

Cash money in a roll in your pocket, with a beaner on the outside. http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=donnie+brasco+money+in+a+roll&FORM=VIRE1#view=detail&mid=28263827A9ABFF0E18F528263827A9ABFF0E18F5

Questions of morality (right and wrong?) and taste notwithstanding, when my husband was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease, his doctor told him never to carry his wallet in his back pocket again. It throws off the alignment of your spine when you are sitting, especially for guys who carry an encyclopedia in their wallets. (What's up with all those business cards, receipts, and so on?)

I started stowing my wallet (Currently: Driver's license, 2 car registrations, AAA card, Medicare card, Health Insurance Card, 2 credit cards, AARP card, Priority Club card, Bank ATM card) & my money clip in my left from pocket when we still lived in NYC, as a precaution against pocket-pickers in crowded subway cars. I continue to do so.

BTW: The sky is gray today...

That's your perspective. Someone within a few miles of youmight argue the sky is blue, and that's just a different point of view.

Why are people carrying car registration? Can't you just leave it in the car? Am I doing something wrong

I have two wallets (not at the same time) the one is where I keep all my stuff and the other is a smaller wallet with a pocket on either side for when I'm traveling light (wearing a suit or summertime shorts and don't need everything in it) and carry just my driver's license and my ATM card (maybe a train ticket or Metrocard if I'm going into the city).

Not sure where most men keep their cash but I've never carried money in my wallet, I've always carried it folded in my front pocket.

What if: Your car is stolen but not yet reported, and the thief is pulled over for a broken tail-light. The officer asks for their license & (your) registration, which they happily present, telling the cop they're driving their cousin's car, with permission. Cop shrugs, warns about the broken light, & the thief drives your car away with a warning.

I keep my registrations with ME, just in case...
