LOST Orange Cat

I've noticed an orange cat hanging out outside the church at the corner of SO and Church, I realize that's not close to you at all but maybe worth taking a look?

I don't think Millburn has a shelter they use. I believe they have an arrangement with one or more of the veterinarians in the area. A friend in Millburn found her two missing dogs at Dr. Stack's Office, where they had been brought by animal control.

Oh, thanks for posting about a potential lead on Mr. Orange. It is far from where we live but no unreasonable given that he went missing two weeks ago. I'll check tonight after work. If you see him again, please feel free to call me 9178856416.

I'll also check with vets in Millburn.

Thanks for the bump. We checked Church and SO Ave but not luck. Shelter hasn't been bringing in many cats. I really hope that someone has taken him in and fed him. No lead is insignificant. We check each one.

Someone on MOL told me that Millburn uses Livingston Twp shelter

We saw a very big orange cat on Sunday on Essex right by Clinton school. He/she came up to us asking to be petted and clearly hungry. But this was a grown cat and definitely no kitty.

Mr Orange is 9 years old. He is a medium sized cat. He would definitely approach people looking for affection. I wonder of this was him.

I'll check with Livingston shelter.

We'll check out the area tomorrow to see if we can find him. I was a bit surprised because we have an orange stray in the neighborhood and I thought it was him. I was surprised he would come up to us and did not want to engage because I thought it was the stray and probably full of fleas. But if this wasn't our local stray, then it could very well have been your cat. He definitely rubbed against our legs and was 'telling' us something. I'll put your phone number on my cell so that I can call you if we see him again.

That is very kind of you to do. He definitely tries to communicate with people. He has now been gone for three weeks. If it is him, he has probably been through a lot out there.

Saw this very friendly kitty outside of our house this morning on Summit and Oakland Rd. We fed her. She has a collar but no name tag.

looks like the cat from this post:

@jmartini could this be your cat?

I sent them a text message with photos.

Thanks @sunflower310

I do hope Mr. Orange is found safe and sound, very soon. Remember, most indoor cats never stray very far from home. They tend to hide in plain sight.

The cat that I posted photos of this morning is indeed the missing cat in the other post. His name is Terry. I left food out for him. I hope that he comes back so I can return him to his owners. If you see Terry, post in the linked thread about him. It gives me hope that Mr Orange is out there. Terry has been missing for much longer.

Never lose heart! So glad Terry has offered you a ray of hope.

@sunflower310 - if you open a can of food when it is quiet - late in the evening or early in the am - he may hear it. Also, I could bring a trap over if you like.

My sister had a cat missing for over two months. Once someone spotted the cat, they used a trap to capture him.

There are a million stories out there that can serve as a reminder to never give up hope but Daisy's is one of the best! Don't give up hope! Mr. Orange will make his way back home and then he will "tell" you all about his grand springtime adventure!

Got a tip today that he was seen around Richmond and Baldwin today. Walked around there and near the Clinton School. Didn't see him. If you live in that area and see an orange cat please feel free to give me a call.

Is this him? This is the cat we saw this afternoon.

No that isn't him. Beautiful kitty though. Thank you for the tip and for posting the photo

@sunflower310 - I can help you trap if you have a sighting or an idea where he might be.

Too bad. This one on the photo wasn't very friendly and didn't fit the 'character description' but I thought I'd give it a try. He was extremely good at catching birds but also very thin. The orange cat that came up to us near Clinton the other day had a very glossy coat. If that one was yours, he gets fed somewhere. We'll keep looking. My son loves orange cats because of some Minecraft character and is very eager to walk around looking for 'Stampy'.

Thanks cupoftea, Mr Orange has a very glossy long hair coat. We went by Clinton with no luck the other day. If you see the glossy coat cat, please let me know. Hauscat, thank you for your offer to help us with a trap. We don't have a good sense of where he is yet. I hope that people are taking pity on the poor thing and feeding him.

@hauscat is very good at trapping. Considering that he is an indoor cat, it is extremely unlikely (unless he was chased) that he wandered very far from home. Take her up on her offer, please.

Followed up on a phone call saying that an orange cat was seen in South Orange on Ridgewood and Forest Rd yesterday. We drove by but didn't see him. If you live in that area, he may be hanging out there. We had previously heard there was an orange cat on SO ave and Ridgewood.

@Ericdinn:  I just spotted a cat fitting your cat's description in my yard.  Sent you a PM.

I hope the cat Joan saw is the right one.  But there IS a long-ish haired orange outdoor cat that lives in our (Joan's and my) neighborhood, so I wouldn't be surprised if that was the one she saw.
