JETS 3-3 GIants 1-5

If any of you Eli naysayers are true Giants fans, you're going to miss him when he's gone.  Kannel, Graham, Brown, to name a few, they could be coming back.

I'm not anti Eli AT ALL. I'm not delusional about him, mind you, but I'm definitely a supporter. I just posted the vid 'cause my kid showed it to me and I thought it was kinda funny.

We want Geno!

Try that out and you will feel better about Eli for now.

TOT, wasn't directed specifically at you, but all those who bash Manning, including, what seems like just about every other poster on the Giants Message Board.  My only point is/was, he will be missed when he's gone.

As for Geno, we can send him back to the Jets for all I care.  grin

Joe Namath was a great quarterback whose peak career was cut short due to severely damaged knees. He was the first quarterback to throw for 4000 yards, was adept at reading defenses and calling audibles, was the real deal team leader, and beat the crap out of Earl Morrall and John Unitas in Superbowl III. And then, speaking of first round draft choices: Browning Nagle

I am a Jets fan and very much anti-Eli.  But I will admit based on your back up situation, he will be missed by the Giants fans until you get a real quarterback.  And yes the Jets are in no better shape in that category.  But we have known that for many (too many) years.

Can the Jets and Giants beat their horrible oppents today?

I think the Jets have a shot if they don't look past them and this will tell you how the season goes for the Giants should they lose.

Cleveland's ineptitude is astonishing.  Two turnovers deep in Jet territory and 2 missed field goals, keeping intact their perfect never-been-in lead-once stat intact 4.5 games into season.  After Cleve missed the 2nd filed goal, Jet's "marched" to a little past mid field and kicked a 57 yard field goal with 1 second on the first half clock.

The Jints game ain't no Mona Lisa, either.

Now the Giants will probably try to blame injuries.

Without a doubt.

You could see it on Eli's face after they scored on his fumble.  It was the "Oh ****" I gotta go back out there and try to win this?  Why is it always on me?  Where's my mommy?   Peyton, can you help a brother (your little brother) out?

One absolute about Eli Manning is his toughness. That you would go so low after a game in which we lost all four starting wide receivers and a defensive captain really speaks volumes. I'm seeing you in a completely different light after reading this thread.

he’s a freaking jets fan and an unabashed Eli hater, what do you expect.

unabashed or not you should update the title of the thread...

Is sticking it to your competitors and telling them to suck it bad form? Isn't that the whole point of sportsmanship?

Jets are playing  with energy, something the giants have lacked all season --

It was just announced that Y A Tittle died this weekend at age 90.

Yes it is true that I am a Jets fan and an Eli hater but that doesn't change the facts about him costing them the game yesterday with his fumble and then his interception.

For years the Giants fans stuck it to the Jets fans and now that we finally have better record I am the one with bad sportsmanship???

What about before the season when we were told we would be 0-16 and the Giants were SuperBowl contenders?

I have no unrealistic dreams of the Jets going anywhere this season but it is finally nice not to have to hear the Giants fans every Monday.

My comments are all in jest as same stadium rivals so lets not get all excited about them.

P.S. I don't know how to change the title but if someone else is able, then by all, means feel free to change it to Jets 3-2. Giants 0-5.

Only you can change it. On the list of threads there should be button you see to edit the title of this one.

For instance from a thread I started:

If you truly think that Eli cost them the game yesterday, you must have been watching a different game.  Twice he gave them the lead and twice, the 'vaunted' defense folded like a cheap Polaroid. grin

Defense played terrible.  Manning was not much better.  Last season was the warning -- only they were able to win some close games.  This season after not making virtually no improvements, they are not losing all the close ones.  And Manning is certainly a part of the problem.

Ok, I guess you're one of many with bad sportsmanship.

;-)

I, too, jest. It's just football talk. Good-spirited fun, always.

Thank you ska.

@vermontgolfer,

I was actually watching another game...the Jets game.  But once they won I was able to tune in to Eli's blunders.

Don't get me wrong, he seems like a nice guy and does great work with kids.  But that doesn't make him a great QB.

@EricBurbank

To each his own and as I've said to dozens of Giants fans, you'll be sorry when he's gone.

He's had an odd career but he's got two SB rings.  If you told any fan of a team on draft day that the QB their team picks will get them 2 SB championships, the fan would take it.  I'd take it.

If Phillip Rivers had been the quarterback of the Giants all these years would they have done better, worse or about the same?

Rather, would they have done better, worse or about the same with Rivers and the three picks they gave up. Bolts used them for Nate Kaeding, Shawne Merriman and traded one for ex-Giant Roman Oben. Merriman came in the form of the Giants first round pick the next year. Some notable players available after Merriman include Aaron Rodgers (ok, wouldn't have taken a QB), Roddy White, Logan Mankins, Heath Miller, Frank Gore.

I think they may have done better.  I love Rivers.  He is as tough as they come and a great QB, just never had a full team around him,

Any fan would say yes to any draft that would bring them home 2 rings.  But my point all along is that it wasn't him who brought them home.
