How To Start Boiler?
It was the gas valve. The plumbing supply person who lives a block from me is dropping a replacement part off at the house on his way home. You can't get better service than that. Huge thank you to Anthony Masi and to Brian Chamberlain for saving my sanity.

I know I sound like a broken record, but if you don't have it, buy the worry free plan for your boiler from PSE&G. Unless it's water-related, they will pay for all repairs. It's worth the extra few bucks.
Even if you don't have it, PSE&G will come out and start your furnace/boiler for you.
Not all boilers have electronic ignition. I opted for a pilot in my 4 year old boiler because it is less likely to fail and easier to repair. The efficiency difference is tiny.
