Does anyone know if the airports are being effected?

I don't know, but you can see the wind speed at EWR here (black line is actual speed, but is delayed about 10-15 mins):

HIGH WIND WARNING

Thursday Oct 17

Although the rain is over (except perhaps for a light shower or two this morning) we can expect steady and gusting winds for most of today. The steady 20 mph breeze will occasionally gust up to a possible 50 mph (higher in the city and Newark) especially this afternoon as the storm continues to pull away and deepen.

From the NWS:

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT, West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 65 mph.

* WHERE, Entire Tri - State Area.

* WHEN, Until 6 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS, Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.  Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.

So how much rain did we get on Wednesday? My son says he thought it rained pretty hard, but from my perch it didn't seem like much.
