Gun Control?

your fears were justified. The "point" was hardly obvious.

 Seemed pretty obvious to me.

I think the vast majority of us got the point.  You would almost have to be a moron not to.

Wow...what a kind comment. Still in Canada?

Anyway, the issue is not guns. The issue is the gun culture preventing us from doing anything about guns, of which my post is an example.

And that's why you're posting about masks????????

oh. I was afraid that post might get misunderstood, but I figured the picture of people carrying weapons would make it clear what I was talking about.

The point of the post was open-carry, not masks.

I thought the point was made more comic (or tragic) by the lack of masks on those fine gun-toting citizens.

Indeed.  I was being generous.

We cordially invite Texas to secede.

The last person who could explain what Greg Abbott meant is Greg Abbott.

I heard him on the Fox News Sunday show, and twice he didn't answer a direct question about what he meant, and what regulation is appropriate.

I've long argued that the Union should admit they made a mistake in 1861 and wish the Confederate States (with the possible exception of Virginia) good luck with their independence.  We could resettle any any lovers of Equality and Justice that wanted to move North using the land and property confiscated from the MAGAs we would deport to the South.

Without Georgia the Republicans control the Senate.

Without the whole Confederacy (not counting Tennessee and Maryland, b/c i
don't remember whether they seceded), Republicans would be down by at least 12
or 14 senators.  Imaginary, of course, though sometimes tempting.

The southern slavocracy was aggressively expansionist. Successful secession would almost certainly have meant that 1860 was the opening salvo of a long string of armed conflict over western territory, and probably also of wars of conquest by the CSA in Latin America and the Caribbean. I doubt there was ever any real possibility of avoiding violence; it was always going to be war and the only real question was whether slavery would survive or be defeated.

Where is former Presidential candidate Steve Bullock by the way?

The NRA's bogus bankruptcy filing has been tossed out. Don't know if it can be appealed.

$275,00 in wardrobe expenditures for LaPierre. I appreciate a man's desire to make strong fashion statements but that sounds a touch indulgent on the donor's dime.
