Not sure if I've posted this before. saw it in London and I highly recommend it.
West Side Story opens in previews on December 10th. I think it will be huge
I’ll report back on December 11th.
I saw Hadestown. I’m not a big fan of musicals but I thought it was terrific. Great music. I also saw Height of the Storm with Eileen Atkins. This Saturday seeing Harvey Fierstein as Bela Abzug.
Buy your tix for West Side Story now because once it’s reviewed you’ll have to wait a year. Masterpiece. Leonard Bernstein’s genius shines through in a contemporary take on a classic.
I'm seeing Tina: The Tina Turner Musical next week. I'll try to remember to report back.
(But I'm biased because of having a friend in the cast - one of the kids. I took him to the auditions for the part! I loved the dress rehearsal that I saw about two months ago!)

Said child cast member's schedule was changed that week so we didn't get to see it then after all. Finally (knock on wood!) going tonight.
On the drama side, this looks interesting. I'm a fan of Steppenwolf's ensemble work and of Letts's writing. Its setting is like a Maplewood TC or South Orange BoT meeting, with some interesting turns.
Daughters college buddy is in “Ain’t Too Proud”. Went last night. Real singing up in there! Other than that, pretty much follows the Temptations TV movie story line. Great tribute to a great group.
My friend saw WSS last week and relayed to me that she “cried through the whole thing”

I can now enthusiastically recommend this show. In particular, Adrienne Warren is phenomenal in the title role!

Cool - I hadn't heard of that one before - here's the promo video:
In previews. Saw it Saturday.
+++++++++++++++++
Finally made it back to Broadway - Moulin Rouge - Phenomenal!
Great set - great performance! I was a big fan of the movie and they did it justice. They also updated a lot of the song clips. There was over 55 pop song references. Which sounds corny, but it was really well done.
Saw Topdog/Underdog yesterday. It was terrific. Acting was great. Highly recommend.
I also thought Topdog/Underdog was fantastic, as was Death of a Salesman. Leopoldstadt was really powerful. I liked Cost of Living less than the others.
I caught Life of Pi last week - beautiful, very well done!
Haven't seen many of the productions that were just nominated.
Hitting the Neil Diamond one next.
I also saw Rent at the Papermill, I was a little underwhelmed. But it was only their 2nd performance, so maybe they have some kinks to work out.

Hadestown was good.
That was really good - I hope the new guy who took over as Hades is as good. Patrick Page was phenomenal in that role. He left at the end of 2022.
A friend sees virtually everything on Broadway, and a lot Off, too. She saw “Good Night, Oscar” a few weeks ago, and cannot stop raving about it, and about Sean Hayes in particular. I’ve never heard her rave like this. But I assume his Tony is going to make it hard to get tickets, at least for the time being.
A Beautiful Noise was well done - I enjoyed it. The lead was perfect, nice concept - it was a modern day Neil discussing his life with a psychologist - using his songbook for analysis.
MJ The musical was really well done. My seats were almost last row in the mezz and it was still really good.

Loved Tootsie but it’s closing January 5th. Cheap tix on Today Tix.
