Happy to report that dog and owner have been reunited! The dog was microchipped and that is what made all the difference.

Found this beautiful, super-friendly stray dog this morning outside the Maplewood train station at the corner of Maplewood Avenue and Durand Road--close to the Valley National Bank.
The dog--believe it's a male--has a collar, Home Again tags and a tag from South Orange Animal Hospital.
Two fellow residents helped, and a third resident thought she knew who the owner was and was driving him to the possible owner. If that's not the owner, they are taking him to the vet so his microchip can be scanned.
But I am posting here just in case.
