If it was charged to a credit card, you can dispute it through the bank.
eta - Just noticed that you did that.
No more ideas. Good luck!
Years back the Star Ledger made their employees take pay cuts etc. to save the paper. The SL then also laid off workers. The Sunday paper was never worth $2.00 now I think it's $2.50 and a $1.50 daily
I won't even buy. it. Years back they had a little trick. Give you a discount for X weeks. Had to pay delivery change too. I have no problem tipping the delivery person. When you subscribe to a magazine at a discount the price is for x years with postage.

The screw ups continue - turns out the Ledger decided to reactivate my account without my permission and started billing me. As soon as I saw the charge on my account (I check online daily) I called the Ledger and asked them to cancel and refund the amount. Today (over a week later) a check came in the mail - not a full refund. They charged me for the papers they delivered without my approval.
To add to my frustration, the only way to contact the billing department is by phone. The only email addresses I have been able to find are for the publisher and the vp of operations so I've emailed them without any response.
Any suggestions? I've already filed a disputed charge form with my credit card company.
