Microwave worth fixing??

we have an 11 year old jenn-air convection microwave that needs a new magnetron (thank u for those who helped in suggesting that was the problem). my husband is not handy enough to fix himself. it'd cost $400.

i'm using my "help from the audience" card here....what would u do? buy a new one or replace magnetron? thanks!

Might help to add "Microwave fix" to the thread title

An 11 year old microwave should definitely be replaced.

I got a perfectly good one on the local facebook page for like $50

thanks for your help everyone. any suggestions on where you buy your appliances? thanks!

Paul's Appliances in Newark has great prices, great customer service, and you can do most of your business with them over the phone. Since they're in Newark, the sales tax is reduced, as well.
