I just heard a piece on NPR, I think, about groups that give books to prisoners. I'm sure they'd appreciate contributions. Unfortunately my brief research into it doesn't show a group in NJ.
eta: I'm in the same boat. Have to get rid of a ton of books myself.
If you have any gently used children's books, I would love to take them off your hands! I am going to be organizing a children's book drive in a month or so. They will be donated to the Food Pantry of the Oranges. The last time I donated boxes of books to them, the children were so appreciative. It felt like time to do it again. I strongly believe that getting books into young children's hands is the best way for them to learn to love to read. PM me and I can pick up. Many thanks.
Sorry, no children's books! Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions!

Livingston library takes book donations, I just brought them boxes. Maplewood library not taking then until spring.

got a ton of books to get rid of and don’t want to toss them out. Does anyone know where to donate/sell/get rid of books in the area?
