What is with the jerks setting off fireworks?

I feel left out. It's been very quiet in my neck of the woods (near St. Barnabas)

Of the multiple crises that have beset us in the last few months, it's way down the severity scale and hopefully over.   It was a nuisance.

A reader comment today in the Philadelphia Inquirer:

Last night was a nightmare in Jersey too. One of our dogs, a former stray, was so scared, she was vomiting. Even more important are our veterans with PTSD for whom this noise can trigger extreme anxiety.

Hopefully in a state like ours, its a weird one-year thing.  In free for all places like PA, it must be bad every year for dogs and veterans (and babies). 

This was in Brooklyn last week. 

I hope it stops soon. I’ve read about people being awakened by them and last night that was me. They were on top of us. It’s beyond inconsiderate after midnight. People suck. 

I'll spare everyone on this thread the graphic photos of animal casualties, many deliberate. So disgusted.
