I did not realize that Audacy, the parent company for WCBS, also owns WFAN (sports) and WINS (news). It’s another example of media conglomeration I was unaware of.
I counted six stations they own in NYC. I thought the FTC had rules about owning to many outlets in the same market.

I’m not sure how many stations exist in the NYC market, but if there are 45 or more you can own up to 8 radio stations. The number is a sliding scale so ownership is more restricted in smaller markets like Pawnee, Indiana.
My friend's son just graduated college and is working on the sports radio side. He said it has been hard there the last couple of days seeing people being let go.
