Walker for my mom?

Hi All,

My sweet mother is coming to town this weekend and can’t manage her walker on the train with luggage etc.  Looking to BORROW a rolling walker with a seat from Saturday morning to Tuesday morning.  Anybody happen to have one?  Thanks so much.

 Will this work?

JJ, is it adjustable? It really is best for wheeled walkers and all mobility aids to set for the user by either an occupational therapist or physiotherapist. You want the ergonomics to be right, and also the falls risks to be minimised - as these can change daily, depending on the user's daily wellbeing, therapists are the best people to handle these matters.

(We get our walkers professionally serviced at least twice a year when they're used, once if not used. Clients who have their own aids are urged to have at least quarterly reviews for changes in needs and function) Insurance may not cover incident the user if ergonomics etc aren't adjusted correctly for that individual.

I have no idea.  Its Pingu's decision if it will work and how much effort to put into it.

South Orange Elks loans out durable medical equipment.  You might want to check with them and see if they have what you need available.  If you live in Maplewood, you can check with the Maplewood Health Department.  They will loan durable medical equipment to residents.  Other municipalities may have something similar.  It is worth checking out.  Both of the above sources have donated equipment for loan.  Neither charges for this service.

Thank you both SO much!  Called Maplewood town hall and they have a range of options.  Thanks again. Much appreciated!
