TRUMPCARE

The Republicans like to show the clip of Bill Clinton calling Obamacare crazy but this bill is absolutely nuts

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/obamacare-repeal-bill-changes-236278

I  have no idea what this means:

The bill also includes provisions nodding at anti-abortion GOP leaders. Among other changes to the repeal bill, the amendment would delete a provision that would have allowed consumers to move leftover tax credit money into a Health Savings Account. Anti-abortion groups had raised concerns that the provision might be eliminated under the Senate's strict budget rules and inadvertently allow for taxpayer funding of abortion.

After learning of the change, at least one member of the anti-abortion caucus — Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-Mo.) — told POLITICO she changed her vote to "yes."

Make a bad idea worse, pick up some votes.

I'm starting to think George Carlin was onto something.

Shouldn't it be called something like Trumpdoesnotcare? Or Trumpdoesnotgiveash!t? Or diepoorpeoplemoremoneyfortherich? I dunno....

DonTcare is popular.

Thanks that works.

Tweet of the day: "Wall Street's latest version of bullish requires 20 -million newly uninsured."

Heard on Bill Maher. If you want Republicans to care about children push them back into the uterus.

What are the chances of passage? Seems like a no - but hard to predict anything these days.

I think it should be called the Don't Give A Sh!+ Plan or D-GAS for short.

Yup.

This is the way I've felt going into everything that's been passed or approved so far. Never underestimate the power (and dispicability) of today's republicans.

what time is the vote scheduled for?

I'm watching the stock market for any signs that rumors or sentiment changes are going around. Currently the major US indexes are picking up a bit of steam after floundering around this morning... But the moves are not Yuge.

I'm guessing the vote will happen between midnight and 3am. I don't believe there's any set time, but that's the window I saw one republican mention just a little while ago.

As of right now Meadows said there was not enough votes to pass it as of 1:30 - hopes to have a different outcome by 7.

How many Repubs can be bought or arm-twisted to screw their constituents on something that might be tough to put a positive spin on when it comes time for re-election?

Politico and others are reporting that Trump could not reach a deal with the Freedom Caucus at their meeting that ended about half an hour ago.

Additionally having made some concessions to the "Far Right" they are now losing the "Moderates".

Interesting. I guess it is harder to govern than it is to obstruct.

Spicer is super confident it will pass - there's no Plan B.

midnight vote under cover of darkness. Yup, sounds about right.

Seriously, what was the rush that this had to be done so half-assed that neither side wants it? Why couldn't we take some time, put some good minds together and do some great problem-solving? My heart truly breaks for our country. We deserve and can be so much better.

Spicer is one of the worst human beings and biggest idiots on this planet. Great combination.

Because the Republicans made such a big deal about repealing the ACA. So, now they are like the dog who caught the car.

even so, they don't have to come up with a new plan and implement it within 60 days of taking office. Even if I were Ra-rah on repeal, I certainly could have an adult level of patience as a sound solution was put in place.

The Republicans under Trump are like rabid dogs. They have slipped all reason and are just attacking and destroying.

They're anxious to pass this because it will give the top 2% some tax relief. And once it passes they can give them another break with the Tax reform bill. "Making the rich richer" should be the new slogan.

I understand why they are anxious. I'm staying what's obvious to most- that this was a rushed, botch job. I suppose we shouldn't complain because hopefully that's what will kill it.

what makes you think the problem you want to solve is even close to the problem the Republicans are trying to solve?

There is no common ground to be found. One side wants the government to intervene to provide coverage for more Americans. The other side wants the exact opposite.

Seriously, how much money does one person need? When does money hoarding become a sickness? It's disgusting.

The only thing Trump cares about is winning. It does not matter to him what the Bill says as long as it does not hurt him personally.

Some say that one can never be too rich or too thin. Everyone knows the latter is not only not true but can be a serious pathology. I think the former can as well.
