There is a line of scattered storms developing just west of route 81 in Pennsylvania and moving east towards our area. Forecast is on track with the weather arriving here between 5 and 7pm

That was a bust.

 The main event was wind, and the storm performed, with 50+mph gusts.  That was what triggered the warning.  There were also hail reports in the Morristown area.


There was clear evidence of strong winds in Maplewood last night.  I picked enough branches/tree limbs off my lawn and plant beds this morning to build a bonfire.  

ETA:  Huge thank you to DPW for removing the fallen limbs and branches from the median in front of my house.


Actually, Wednesday night's storm took down a good-sized part of a maple tree in the town lot (the one behind the greenhouses by Town Hall) which wiped out a sizable portion of our back fence. The town crew came and took away the branches and sawed up the thickest parts (the branch that came down was about a foot in diameter). So, it wasn't a total fizzle! It took out the gate and about 10 feet of stockade fencing.
