Why our party is in trouble

these are only issues for people like you who reside inside the right-wing echo chamber. The people who would NEVER in a million years vote for a Democrat.

It's more important to know what people who are persuadable are thinking. We can probably safely assume not one of the issues you cite is of concern to open-minded voters.

she claims she voted for Obama…. Twice…I think the holy water bubbles up when she dips her finger in it

If that is true, we are indeed lost. But I believe your comment is untrue. Just check out the comments on MOL.

Well, here’s an easy test.

How would your opinion of President Biden change if the handover of Afghanistan to the Taliban went like it was supposed to?

Then there's other people that will remember stuff like this.

And this recent example.

And what is this out of context quote that has got the right-wing all in a frenzy an example of, exactly?

Unfortunately one of the reasons the party is in trouble is because Biden is a lousy orator.

Actions speak louder than words…I find it ironic that Joe Biden is the one making America great again. Anyone who thinks trumpenstein is a better speaker, is inadvertently letting others know that they are just as foolish.
Biden’s numbers are slowly creeping up, I’m not sure how the polls out in Tennessee and Kentucky will go for him though… these MAGATs have an aversion to electric vehicles. So the manufacturer’s relocation to the USA creating jobs for these states will be met with more complains from their representatives in Congress? Biden is gonna surprise a lot of people not just republicans.

Yes, the vaccine keeps people from dying.  It keeps people out of the hospital. What idiot thinks those are bad things?

And to think that Covid was just a few % points removed in death rates and contagiousness from spiraling out of our ability to control it.  And now, we have a swarm of Monday morning quarterbacks second-guessing the best scientific assessments made during the worst of the pandemic.

Seems like it's a tough sell to argue that public health mandates designed to keep hospitals from filling up with hundreds of thousands of COVID patients were a bad thing.

Also seems like a tough sell to argue that public health laws generally are an attack on freedom. Or is the argument that public health laws are otherwise OK, but just not in the case of COVID?

Let's not forget that the Trump administration negotiated the agreement for the U.S. to withdraw from Afghanistan.

Mr. Terp missed the point of your "easy test" post.

I don't think the issue is that Biden is a horrific speaker.  He clearly is, but that's not the problem.  The problem is that he doesn't seem to know where he is half the time.

For starters, it would have been great to not hand the Taliban a **** ton of military weaponry.

You mean weaponry that they've had no training on and can't maintain?

Yeah, but he's not - not to his chosen audience. The fact is that Biden will never stir up anyone the way Trump stirs up his base.

I have been busy with the Geek Squad today — all wired up and cameras set to roll — hope to catch sight of deer and assorted wildlife in the pinelands preserve in my backyard — hopefully no bad guys.

Biden was hellbent to erase as much of Trump’s work as possible, thoroughly screwing up immigration by stopping the wall construction, promising huge cash payments to immigrants, setting off the flood of people from many countries to our southern  border. Some 2M people have arrived since he took office. The debacle last summer when the president threatened the border patrol officers for allegedly whipping migrants proves how poor his responses are under pressure.

300 Americans die every day from fentanyl brought from China, shipped through Mexico, for America’s kids — the pills look like colorful candy.

We still worry about viruses, yet thousands of unvented or tested individuals walk into this country everyday. Reports say many are young men.

I intend to answer the questions re the abandonment of Afghanistan and the thousands of the Afghans who worked side-by-side with Allied forces for 20 years. They are either dead, or hiding from the Taliban.

Too tired, way past my bedtime. tbc

Note that Biden started working on the wall again. I'm pretty sure we've established that building the wall is racist or something.  White supremacist?  Nazi?  I can't remember.

You republicans will get the shock of your lives come November. I wonder if Hannity and Carlson are still gonna claim the voting machines are rigged.

We'll see.  As many here know I don't vote.  But after a discussion with a good friend, I have re-assessed my position.

After the covid tyranny, I am not only going to vote but I am going to campaign for people.  In 2024 I plan to spend some time and $$ in swing states.

And what, vote for Republicans?

Justify that, please.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.  There are things about DeSantis that give me pause.  But, I hope he is the nominee.  If so, I will take a leave of absence at work and go to the wall to get him elected

Sarah Pailin outspent Mary Peltola by 4 to 1…

You will be very disappointed, save your money.
