I thought this was going to be about books being removed from libraries and topics being removed from school curricula.
Boy was I wrong.

You also though Biden was cogent and it was Trump that was losing it. You being wrong isn't notable

Biden's current level of cogency runs circles around Trump. Trump is literally unable to answer questions. I mean, have you watched him recently? Unexpurgated, not via curated clips.
That you can't see this should be worrisome to you.

Yes, I often am wrong. No shame in being wrong on occasion.
But this response of yours is something of a non sequitur.

Many people like the Ave Maria, but it does not have a good beat and you can't dance to it.

It was disconcerting to see a couple of songs on his list that I happen to like a lot.
I can no longer listen to any of those songs thanks to Trump's weirdo art performance.
I’m good until he picks the Aled Jones version of Ave Maria we played at my Mom’s funeral.

It was like the second coming of Andy Kaufman.
Maybe trump has been diagnosed with advanced dementia and they’re just trying to make it over the finish line, then invoke article 25 and have Vance be the president.
Just imagine Biden performing this stunt… terp would be having multiple orgasms.

The Dems already did an in-house Article 25 on Biden. Jim Gaffigan's version (the best part is Bloomberg's straight face throughout)

Musk is still spewing his poison and bile so that would be a "No".

Not really. People with brains could see that Biden didn't have 4 more years in the tank and eventually Biden accepted that.
I wish somebody (e.g., his wife) could have encouraged him to reach this conclusion 2 years ago, but it is what it is.

at least use your own definition when you use the word. Of course, then you'd have to use it much less than you do.
and the answer is of course not.

easiest question in the history of the world.
No.

Do you remember Der Spiegel's *last* Public Enemy Number Two?
No.
Exactly.

That’s called being criticized. Lots of idiots think being criticized equals being cancelled. Or that a consumer deciding to never buy a Tesla or a Kanye album is somehow “cancel culture”. Maybe it just means someone is so reprehensible that people choose to vote with their dollars.
I remember years ago reading the book “Ender’s Game”. A really interesting and original sci fi novel. Then I read that the author, Orson Scott Card, was a pretty vile homophobe. He made public statements against same-sex marriage but also in support of anti-homosexuality laws, the kind where you can be arrested for being gay.
So that was the last of his books I ever read, even though I’ve heard the sequels are very good as well. And I’m not the only one … thousands of people petitioned to get him taken off working on a Superman comic book after an illustrator left in protest. Other people organized boycotts of the film version of “Ender’s Game”. He got pretty whiny about the whole thing. The movie flopped and a potentially lucrative film series got canned
So is that cancel culture? I call it consequences for shooting off your mouth with hateful speech. He had every right to say what he wanted about gay people. He didn’t have a right to expect people to ignore that crap when deciding whether to put some money in his pocket.
I’m not entirely clear on what happened with BAM and Andrew Schulz. BAM replied to Fox Digital news with the following statement:
"This show was not cancelled; it was a prospective rental that was never contracted. The decision to pass was made by BAM’s senior staff well before the podcast interview with Donald Trump,"
So that’s their side of the story. I guess you can decide for yourselves whether this is cancel culture or fragile male outrage.

I was lucky to have read the first six of the Ender's books before I found out he was an AH. Great books. Had a lot of fun discussing them with my son.
And thanks for the BAM news. I didn't know Schulz before this, and I'll have no inclination to know more about him if Bam's most reasonable and more-believable-than-Schulz's explanation proves to be true.
A question to the above esteemed posters who have opined that labeling a person "Public Enemy Number Two" is mere criticism and does not rise to the level of canceling that person:
What label would constitute canceling a person?

of course a label is simply a form of criticism. how can it be anything else?
I must again refer you back to the same definition you've already offered to us. tell us how labeling fits into it.

So far, nobody here (even Mr. Surovell) has said that the Der Spiegel headline was "cancelling" Musk. Elon did whine about it and say it was an assassination threat, however.

Elon Musk is no ordinary person. He’s literally one of the richest humans in the world. He owns one of the most ubiquitous social media platforms in the world. He’s chosen to use his wealth and power to insert himself into the political process to help elect a man who many people view as a threat.
One headline and article in Der Spiegel isn’t canceling someone of that stature. If anything they’re probably putting themselves at risk from the legions of devoted Muskovites who are always ready to attack those who dare question his holy Elonness.
I’ve been trying to find out what the article actually says. It’s easy to fixate on the headline. He claims it encourages people to assassinate him. I’m sure it’s not a love letter but I’m also sure that inciting people to felonies is not in the interest of Der Spiegel.
Now, when you have millions of social media followers, and you accuse someone you disagree with of pedophilia, then hire a private investigator to try to dig up information to discredit that person, that might be more of an attempt at canceling someone.
