Microsoft to stop supporting Publisher by October 2025 - How to replace?

I have used MS Publisher for close to 25 years, writing service manuals in my corporate career, and assorted material related to plants since then.  This means inserting photos at suitable locations in the text, adding graphics and often inserting text on the photo as well (example below).

MS Word is not suitable for this type of work, and it does not look like MS Designer is the right vehicle for writing 1-4 page articles with this type of graphics either.  Any suggestions on what I can use in the future?

Affinity Publisher 2

Agree 1000%. I love Affinity publisher. I use the iPad version which is very affordable, and has virtually all the functionality of the desktop version. (The desktop version is also a bargain IMO especially if you compare it to Adobe products ... Affinity is better and cheaper). I highly recommend getting all three products if you can afford them as you gain functionality of the other products within the interface of the one you are working with. There is a big discount if you buy the whole suite. But just getting publisher would be a great solution too.

Look up classes by Affinity Revolution to get started - she is a good, clear instructor. I used Skillshare to get the classes - got a license just to get the Affinity classes - but she has a lot of free content available on YouTube. Bonus for you tomcat - she is a plant lover and uses plants in a lot of her examples.
