Got through this morning and a surprisingly candid staff member explained the situation.
Apparently, about two weeks ago, Senator Booker, in response to a motion introduced by Senator Sanders, voted to send more bombs and more machine guns to Israel for use in slaughtering Palestinians. For many of the Senator's staff members, this was the last straw and they resigned in mass to protest his material support for genocide. As a result, there have not been enough staff members to man the phones. New staff is being hired and the man I spoke to said that they should be coming on line in the days ahead.
Thanks for the info Morganna. I already had these numbers in my contacts and had been calling them daily but I think the more these contact points are publicized, the better.

Thanks for the background. It sheds some light on the thread title.

I am not doubting that you were told this, but if true, it's kind of surprising it's not a news story. And a major one at that. I couldn't find anything on it.

Booker's own staff is leaving him. Voters won't be far behind.
I've still been unable to find any confirmation of this.
Been trying to reach our MIA US Senator again. I've called all three numbers every day for the last week with no results. The man has gone the full Menendez yet again.
I guess he is too busy running for President. There was a time when he might have won my vote but that day is long past.

I thought you were Canadian now.

Dual citizen. We vote in NJ for the rest of our lives because that was the last place we lived in the States. My daughter just cast their first vote ever in the recent primary.
It's not like Booker's staff can't answer the phones because they are too busy setting up town halls.

They're busy setting up his book tour.
So.... I was looking to see when Corey Booker would be having any sort of constituent outreach (online or in person town halls) in NJ and, while the man who is supposed to represent of the people of NJ in the US Senate is having multiple town halls in states with early 2028 primaries, I can't find a single event that will be held within 500 miles of his actual constituents. Combine this with the fact that his staff never answer their phones nor reply to queries and one begins to wonder if Cory even remembers what it is that he is actually supposed to be doing when he is at work.
I am still trying to figure out what name I am going to write in for US Senator on my primary ballot. Suggestions?

Andy Kim
If I could take Booker's Senate vote and give it to Kim, I definitely would.
It's sad, I use to really like Booker. He's not my kettle of fish policy wise but, in the context of national politicians, I thought he had a certain integrity and that he legitimately wanted to serve the people of NJ. I would tune in every month to his call in appearance on the Brian Lehrer Show and, when I needed help renewing my kids passports abroad during the pandemic, his staff were super useful.
In the last 16 months, however, he has more or less ghosted his home state and I have come to believe a lot of what his critics have been saying for decades, that he is just a power hungry grifter with his eyes set only on the White House.

Tom Malinowski?

If I wanted to oppose a Stanford grad, I’d look for a Bear. Here’s one.

My wife got her PhD from Cal so I will always take the bear over the tree (possibly the lamest mascot of all time).
Erakat sounds amazing. Maybe I will write her in.
Booker seems to have no interest in consulting his constituents and, instead, is wasting time on a Presidential bid that will end up going nowhere, just like his last one. I would have loved to have seen him primaried, just to remind him that his constituents actually exist.
Spent a little time while I was cleaning the kitchen this morning trying to get in touch with my good friend Cory to find out when he would be holding a town hall for his constituents but, alas, no luck. Also, no response to the messages I left last week and the week before that and the week before that asking the same question (I left my phone number AND my email address).
I guess he has been really busy elsewhere. I know that in recent days he has held Town Halls in BOTH Alabama AND Arizona. Maybe he just forgot to check in to see what the people who actually elected him have to think?
Poor tired Corey......
I emailed Cory's office several weeks ago asking when he would be back in NJ to hold a town hall meeting. I requested a response to my email. I have received nothing.
His office has gone the full Menendez. I wonder whether other POTUS hopefuls do this. If I were to call Josh Shapiro's office would it be impossible to reach a human?
There was a time when I thought that, even though our political venn diagrams only have a 30% overlap, Corey Booker might be a moldy ham sandwich that I could choke down. At this point if the Democratic field has 25 contestants, he will be my 26th choice (right behind Amy Klobachaur).

speaking of filling ovals, here in ohio they give us ballpoint pens, which makes it longer and harder* than necessary to fill in the oval. I've always wondering if it's ok to use my own sharpie.

I get annoyed with the Sharpies they provide us at the polling place in Maplewood. It makes it difficult to write in any names, the point size is not fine enough.
Since Covid, we’ve allowed people to use their own dark blue or black pens; I guess we’re lucky that we only get to tick or X or rank by numbers. If someone’s written anything else on the ballot, it’s invalidated that voter’s choices.

Well, hopefully you and I will be the only people that vote on that race and Corey will end up in a run off with Mr. Holden Adam Townhall*.
*in NJ. Corey's having town halls every other night in states with early primaries.

I have been trying to reach Senator Booker's office for the last week and a half to discuss an issue with the US Consulate in Calgary. Every time I call his office, I get a message saying that all staffers are busy but if I leave a message it will be returned. There have been no responses to my messages or to the emails I have sent. I have tried all three of his offices, I have tried calling at different times of the day and all to no avail. It's almost like calling Senator Menendez's office in the dark days towards the end of his tenure.
Senator Kim's office, on the other hand, picked up on the first ring (Jersey City location).
