Space Station spotting tonight. 8:58 - 9:02

Clear night, should be a good sighting.

Southwest to northeast

What do we look for?

Face South. Look for a "star"moving from right to left. WSW, to N.E.

Clear sky tonight will make it easy to see.

If I'm standing in the middle of town on MA, which way is exactly due south?

download a compass app onto your eyephone.

From Maplewood Ave, it will not be visible until 8:59.

It's right above my house!

Better view than last time. Panels were visible.

It should be visible for the next two or three days. I will post times, if so.

Went out on the deck and watched it floating past. Coolest thing in ages! Thanks, jerseyjack!

That was awesome. Wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't checked maplewoodonline randomly about 20mins ago. Thanks @jerseyjack. The whole family enjoyed that!

Very cool! Thanks for the heads up.

That was awesome. I read this at 8:55 and I grabbed my 5 year old out of bed to come see it. Really cool.

Thanks for the heads up @jerseyjack

Thanks for posting. That was cool.

Cool. Gave me a flashback to 1996-97, when I used to go out in front of my house in the evening to look at comet Hale-Bopp.

Hell, I'll beat that. In 1957, my friend Edgar and I were on the corner of Mechanic and Main in Millburn, watching Sputnik. The Newark Evening News posted the time and we were out on a cold October evening watching it.

I also used to watch Captain Video and the Video Ranger on Channel 5, Dumont Television Network.

I think I saw it, a very bright "star" moving very quickly through the sky, from southwest to northeast--it got lost behind some trees further north, but it was very cool to see it for the short time that I did. Thanks for posting about this, jerseyjack!
