Solar Power

Hi everyone, my name is Jeffrey Johnson

I live in South Orange,

I want to get the word out that I am now in the Solar Energy business, working with a company called Sunpower by Infinity, which is owned by Total. Total is a French company which is the 11th largest company in the world. Most the NASA solar panels in orbit now are ours.

I specialize in residential application’s. The program is absolutely incredible. In a nut shell we install a solar power plant on your roof for zero money out of the homeowners pocket, no deposit, no money down, zero cost.  FYI the average price of a system is $40,000. - $60,000. The only money the homeowner pays is $4. A month to PSEG or your energy supplier and a fixed rate to Sunpower which is usually 25 – 40 % less than your current supplier the first year and the savings increases every year going forward.

This is the most incredible part…..

The big energy suppliers (PSEG, CJPL, etc..) have what’s called an escalator, their cost increase on average 2-4% annually.  Unlike other solar companies the cost of our solar energy NEVER goes up. So, in 5, 10, 15 years while PSEG cost have increased 40-70% you’ll be paying the same you were paying on day one of your solar install. The savings are unbelievable! I’m talking tens of thousands of dollars. If the house is sold everything is transferable and the new owner is locked into your savings.

The hardest part of my job is to convince people that there’s no bull s..., no catch. It is what it is.

If you’re interested in taking a look to see if solar might work for you give me a call. I'd be happy to discuss how it all works. If I come to your home I'll have a satellite image of your home, your roof pitch, overhead tree images and everything I need to work your numbers, all I'll need from you is your electric bill. I can figure out your savings on the spot.

Have a great day, feel free to give me a call or text

It is far better to buy the system than to lease it like this.  If you own, you get the tax credit, you get the SREC payments, and you get the electricity.  And where do you get the 40-60k number?  My 9 kw system with trenching etc, cost 30k before tax breaks, 20k after.

Anyone considering solar should talk to multiple vendors.  I am not a salesman.

The cost of the system depends on the size of the system, what panels are being used, type of roof, pitch, etc.... Every home differs. Agreed on getting multiple quotes. In most cases (especially NJ), it makes more sense for a homeowner to lease. We also sell the systems and finance as well.

If leasing the SREC's are owned by the solar company which helps reduce the cost of lease. Of coarse at the end of the lease you don't own the system. You do have the option to buy it, but by then the technology will be at a completely different level.

The beauty of the lease is that it's no money out of pocket. Zero. Basically you just pay a lower monthly energy bill with no escalator (increase in your monthly electric bill).

FYI - be careful of solar companies that have escalators in the leases, it can range from 2-2.9% annually, unfortunately it's extremely common. Also, be sure there is a 25 year warrantee (not 10) on the system as well as the roof. Many many companies sub-contract the installs and the roof is not covered

.

There are many different options for  homeowners depending on their specific circumstances. I try to determine, with the homeowner, if solar is a good fit and what best fits their needs finically.

I hope you're enjoying the benefits of your system!!

Feel free to call me to discuss.

All that a lease offers in the end is lower electric rates.   my system is warranted 20 years, and will pay for itself in a little more than 6 years.  After that it's all free electricity and I'll still get the SREC.  I understand leading if you can't afford the upfront cost, but I disagree with the statement that leasing is your best bet in NJ.

I don't know about you but I'm paying less now than 5 or 8 years ago. Five years ago I paid 14.7 ȼ per kwh. Eight years ago it was 18.6.

Now, I'm paying 13.4 ȼ per kwh. These amounts are for both the basic and the delivery charges.

Its gotten cheaper.
