So I have Blink Ring door bell — maybe a dog would be easier?

I got wireless/upped yesterday, hooked up by pros. Zero information on how to actually use the devices — I like to pour over product manuals like in days gone by! Is there a Blink for Dummies book?

So, any advice, tips will be welcomed. I am sure I will have questions!

try youtube...should be a how to video

Thanks for the suggestion, but I did try youtube. Do you remember how you watched a magician perform when you were a kid and, try as you might, you never really understood how he did it? That is pretty much me after watching how-to videos!

I date back to the rabbit ears antenna (enhanced with aluminum foil), so I will preserver!

Tried it, and did glean a bit of info, Those tech guys talk too fast and say very little — Guess it is trial and error. The fact that the “manual” which was in the box — a 2x3” lille fold out — could only be read with a magnifying glass and consisted of info unrelated to its operation, is huberous  at best.

Don't have one, and I I know exactly what you mean about those tech folk speaking unintelligibly.  But I'd guess, with a little searching, you could find a User Manual on Google somewhere.  I think that's why they don't iinclude them with new products anymore.  They expect people to just f nd one on-lin.  (GRR...)

Neat trick. Pause the YouTube video, click on the cog button for settings, and click on playback speed. You can slow the video down so the tech guys don’t talk so fast.

Other tip: take a photo of the user manual with your phone and blow up the picture so you can read it.

Thanks for any and all tips! Did take photos of info from the Blink site and printed them out. seems to me modern technology is way too smug on thinking consumers are on the same page!

Once, I needed info from a copy of an extremely old map. Took it to Staples, the woman scanned it on their (probably six-figure) equipment, blew it up, make me a printout and - presto! - I could read and use the map. It cost maybe $5. Saved me countless frustrating hours of DIY. Maybe they could do the same with a mini instruction manual for you?

Thanks Jasmo, I’ll certainly will check out your first link. Will report back.

I will not open what @Ridsi would call a “ doggy” link, however — he put the fear of God in me over malware?

The first link Jasmo provided is fine. The second one is probably fine if you highlight and copy/paste everything up to the question mark and leave out all the gobbledygook after that which are just trackers so the website knows where you got the link from.

I got the second link from the company highlighted in the first link that directed me to it with a link, which has a well-advertised relationship with the it.  So, it appears quite safe, but nevertheless will remember the concept going forward.
