Yes,  I’ve done that many times and it works.  Worst case you might have to do a second pass, but it should melt its way through

okay. Will try. Thanks

raining a bit harder here and driveway is mostly clear! Yay!

Not nearly enough rain here. Gonna give the neighbors another courtesy hour then get out there and shovel/salt. I hate this kind of storm. Enough snow to be annoying but not enough to draw the shovel crews out.

enough rain here that it’s down to just a thin coat which this sun is already taking care of.

Shoveled this morning.  It probably would have melted away by noon but, if one of the neighbors had slipped and hurt themselves, I would have felt terrible.

of course! We don’t have sidewalks so I’m talking about my driveway only. I did the little walkway for the mailman cheese

Finished initial shoveling about 9:15 am. (heavy to move but not sticking to sidewalk so easy to clear to the cement) Cleared to full sidewalk width in early afternoon.  Next door neighbor did not shovel and their sidewalk is still an icy mess.  Unfortunately, we did not get enough sun to clear what fell in my neighborhood and there is the danger of refreezing overnight if temperatures drop.

How are the roads out there?  I have to drive up to Nutley tonight, wondering if the roads are going to ice over and make it one big PITA.  Thanks for any info.

Our new house has no sidewalks either.  I'm so happy to not have to worry about shoveling after every snow.

And we're on a rural route, so our mail is delivered curbside.  The only exception is parcels, so we do keep the front walk clear since my husband does order stuff from Amazon
