Screen shots on Mac - the time stamp is always wrong!

When I take screen shots, I've noticed that each time, the time stamp is always wrong. For instance, I took one today at 1:22pm and the time stamp read 4:44pm. HUH? I've searched Mac Forum but don't see how to fix it. Suggestions?

A tad late noticing this thread but, how do you take a screen shot anyway

On the Mac it's Control + Shift + 4

For ipad, you hold down the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time. You should see your screen flash. Then you'll be able to find the image in your Photos app.
