Schools CLOSED Today

Funny.  The roads are in excellent shape - have been since 6 AM or earlier.

I was up at 4 AM.  Roads were clear.

Lame.  Roads are totally clear. Sidewalks clear.

The snow was lessening by 2 a.m.

I am taking my kid to school anyway. I disagree with this snow day. I reject their reality and substitute my own.

Where do the teachers live and could they get here?  probably with a delayed opening which might have made more sense.

I am also getting tired of Chicken Little calls from the Governor.  For road crews, this was the perfect storm.  Snowed on a Sunday night when few people were on the roads.  Road surfaces were sort of warm and melted some of the snow.  Snow ended early so the crews could clear roads before rush hour.

We had a delayed opening as of last night.  Then school system decided to close at about 6 a.m.

Better safe than sorry. I still remember that freak surprise snowfall last Nov.

"State of emergency" needs to be renamed to "State of readiness" or something, because in and of itself, it means NOTHING.

It's the right thing to do, but people always think it means something it does not.

I suppose.  Just seems like Murphy is determined to be tough on snow because of the November snowstorm.

You really have it out for Murphy, don't you?  Is there some underlying cause for your distaste for our Governor?  Was your mother's maiden name Sweeney?

Not really.  I just find him to be a bit too earnest and not particularly effective at his job.
