RIP Village Voice

You had a good run.

We'll miss you.

You were a huge influence on this old man.

The Village Voice was my town newspaper. We all scrambled to be the first to find the new apartment listings. The paper introduced me to beloved cartoonist Jules Feiffer. And I actually appeared in sections on disco fashion shows as a designer and modeling for a friend's designs. What a fun era.

My friend made three panels in one Stan Mack issue.

I sold tickets from my scalping business in the Voice. I first tried to place an add for Springsteen tickets. The ad was declined as it didn't meet the Voice's standards for advertising. I spoke to the advertising manager. "You're printing ads for prostitutes, sex fetishes and such. Tickets are below the standards of your paper?"

My ad went in the next edition.
