Rent Party Asks Maplewood TC Candidates the ‘Rock ‘n Roll’ Questions

Nancy is lucky I already voted by mail. I can NOT believe she's never been to a Springsteen concert. That might have been a strike against.

Well asked, and well answered (though the reference to Peter's intelligence as a Monkee may be a first).

Finally incites into the candidates that matter. This clears everything up so now I'm just letting the days go buy till June 2nd because home is where I want it to be.

Be sure to vote

I'm surprised no one wanted Keith Richards as their road trip partner. I'm a huge Bruce fan, but I have to think being on the road with Keith would result in much better stories.

It would probably take me all six hours just to learn to understand what Keith was saying.

Instead: Buddy, how 'about I drive you to Fargo?

1. Mickey Dolenz. He was the funny one. I named my cat after him when I was a kid. And he was a drummer, and I always wanted to be a drummer, until I met a drummer and he told me I don't want to be a drummer.

2. Run DMC & The Beastie Boys, Brixton Academy, 1987.

3. David Bowie. That dude fascinates me.

4. Grew up with The Beatles in the house.

5. John Lydon is possibly the closest though I doubt I would agree with everything anyone said.

6. U2 Zoo TV tour, or Pink Floyd at Earl's Court "In The Flesh" Tour, 1977. I was too poor for the first and 6 years old for the second. My sister went though. Typical.

7. Lou Reed's "Perfect Day" in Trainspotting as Renton overdoses.

8. Bring the Noise by Public Enemy.

9. Maplewoodstock. Just kidding, it's Rent Party.

ZooTV tour was cool they had VW Beatles mounted on cranes and had rigged their headlights to be spotlights. I also believe that was the one where he used a remote to keep changing channels on big screens and would crank call people.

I'm trying to remember who he called in Philly ... Bush the First keeps coming to mind but I'm probably misremembering.

Yeah you should have mortgaged your future to go to that one and I'm not even a big U2 fan.

Your thoughtful and considered answers could definitely sway my vote if ya wasn't one of them foreign socialist that would create the Maplewood NHS and have us all be cured holistically with medicinal liquors out of the old Highland Place.

ok, I'll go:

1. Mike Nesmith. He went on to do a lot of cool TV and movie projects.

2. The Who, Spectrum 1979

3. Keith Richards. Bruce is a close second, but Keith would be more entertaining.

4. Rubber Soul

6. Stones. But I love the Beatles and Who, so it's a close call. The Stones win out because I like playing a lot of their songs.

6. Springsteen. Or maybe Steve Earle.

7. Bruce Springsteen. Nassau Coliseum, Dec. 31, 1980

8. Nilsson "Jump Into the Fire" -- Goodfellas

9. Thunder Road

10. Rent Party
