We use them all the time,

Insuremytrip.com is an interactive website that allows the traveler to compare many plans. It has a chat feature that I did not find helpful. A phone number is also provided if you have additional questions.

I wound up buying a policy with Allianz Global that covers delay, interruption and emergency medical evacuation.

Thank you for the suggestions!

Allianz is the company that you get "by default" if you purchase trip insurance when buying airline tickets from United.  I usually purchase it for international trips because it includes medical coverage.  I rarely purchase it for domestic trips because the cost/benefit doesn't seem worth it.  But recently, due to some personal/family circumstances, I did purchase it for some travel and then needed to use it.  One caution - there is a limit to the amount they will pay for "trip interruption" (i.e. extra costs associated with changing your reservation due to a covered reason.)  The maximum is based on your original ticket cost, so if you purchase a "bargain" ticket and later have to change it and pay a lot more to do that, you probably won't get it all back.
