Recommend your Honda Dealer/Salesperson

We are beginning the search for a new car. Considering purchase or lease, new and used. Looking for recommendations for Honda dealers and salespeople in northern/central NJ.

It all comes down to price. Use Edmunds.com to see what model/features you want and then submit them online to local dealers to get a firm price. Paramus Honda and Mahwah Honda are usually the cheapest. Stay away from Planet Honda! Good luck

I had dealings recently with Skyway Auto Sales in Newark on Raymond Blvd. The owner is fair, genuine and "seems" honest.

Madison Honda on Main St., a lot of local folks use

Madison Honda is excellent.

Just stay off Rt 22. Big State investigation, fraud, etc.

We did well at Paramus Honda for a new Odyssey. Sales guy was Dmitri. Probably the least painful car purchase experience I've had.

Just leased an CRV from Paul Miller on Bloomfield Ave in Caldwell sales persons name Newton $3000.00 down $285.00 a month for three years which includes a $5000.00 damage coverage at the end of the lease.

We used Joyce Honda on Route 10. Ask for Jack. He is very low key and won't pressure you into a sale. We did our research on Edmunds and Kelley Blue Book and he quoted us a price lower than both of those resources.

We dealt with Madison Honda about a decade ago and were pretty happy with how the transaction was handled. We had first gotten a quote from one of the Internet sites but the dealer that gave that quote was over an hour away. We called Madison Honda and they said that they could match it, even though they didn't have a car in stock that matched our needs. They got the car from another dealer and did the sale at the price from the online quote.

Their service department is pretty efficient and convenient, with a comfortable waiting area including WiFi. You do have to be ready to resist some attempt to sell additional services. I always take their "10-point inspection" sheet with their recommendations and thank them but decline the services, since I now deal with a local mechanic for nearly all repairs and maintenance. (I have only been back to the dealership for service in recent years for the Takata airbag recalls.)

To repeat what others said, stay away from Planet Honda. They refused to honor the deal we made just the day before. We found this out after waiting 4 hours in the waiting room to sign the paperwork the next day.

its so much easier to do everything online.

Ugh I'm sorry!

Another reason stay away is that Route 22 sucks. It's like a death trap trying to merge with all that oncoming traffic.

we liked Dan Eller at Paul Miller

Jacob at Madison Honda

Do not buy another Honda. I was told by Honda I could rent a car during the airbag recall they would pay for it. Spoke to Honda USA and PLANET HONDA, where I bought car. I WAS TOTALLY STIFFED. I am out several hundreds of dollars and have an attorney now trying to get what was promised on several occasions to me. I love my car but will NEVER trust Honda ever again.

Jacob at Madison Honda

Jacob retired. He was hands down the best at madison though.

Watch out for the financing department though. The last car I leased from madison required the financing guy to reprint all of the paper work 3 times because he kept trying to charge me for stuff I didnt want like etched glass and extended warranties.
