Light rain likely today, with a slight chance of snow this afternoon but no accumulation.
Keeping an eye on Wednesday. Currently seeing possible 2 to 3 inches of snow starting in the morning, then changing over to rain in the afternoon as temps rise.
Tomorrow, Wednesday: Brief snow possible tomorrow morning with little accumulation changing through mixed snow and rain to all rain by late afternoon and evening. Rain likely tomorrow overnight.

How likely to become an icy afternoon/evening commute? A few years ago I recall similar temps were predicted with snow-to-rain, but the early snow brought down colder temps, and the result was icy roads and commutes that took 6 hours. (I'm considering whether to request WFH for my team tomorrow, as they come from various parts of NJ).
I think it’s going to be all rain. Maybe west of 287 and north of 1-80 a couple inches. The weather people are saying snow just to get some excitement among the snow lovers.
Forecast continues to be a bit warmer, with only a very slight chance of snow this morning. Likely rain this afternoon through tonight, with some gusty winds overnight.
Hey, I don't know what the streams in SOMA look like but dang, the one cutting through Millburn was running pretty high and fast this morning. Nothing like Ida or Irene levels but still.
There's no official gauge at Milburn, but this one is in Springfield, I think about a mile downstream on the Rahway (the stream in Milburn is the West Branch of the Rahway River...the East Branch runs through Maplewood and South Orange).

This does not surprise me. It was pouring last night.
Thanks for the showing the graph, I didn't realize that was available.
I live right next to the East Branch (I'm looking at it right now in fact) and the river this morning at 8.30am was maybe a foot or two below the bank at the golf course, and the golf course is designed to flood when it rains.
The gauge is some sort of device that goes into the water. Go have a look. I somehow think it is supposed to be some sort of early warning flood alarm. It was installed after one of our large hurricanes. I do not know who did this or who monitors it.
Yeesh, can you imagine if it was in the 20s last night?
I'm going to do my own sort of groundhog test this weekend. If my snowblower starts it will be snow dry for another 6 weeks, if not then we will some soon.

My fingers are crossed that it purrs like a kitten! (The older I get, the more I dislike snow…)
