Wed Dec 14th
While some uncertainty still remains on the exact track of the storm Thursday/Friday, the impact on the immediate MAPSO arrea is still more likely to be all rain. Any mixing of sleet or snow would occur Thursday as things get started. By Thursday afternoon, most of the cold air should move off, leaving us with a long rain from Thurs afternoon through early Saturday morning.
Thursday December 15th
Rain, rain, rain
Cloudy this morning. Rain likely to overspread the area later this afternoon. Rain tonight. Rain likely tomorrow morning, and possibly into the afternoon and evening. Total rain 1 to 2 inches. No significant flooding expected but check that the storm sewers are clear.
Winds 15 - 20 overnight with gusts in the 30s.
Tues Dec 13
Interesting, complex system coming for Thursday - Friday.
The storm system coming across the country this week will interact with another low pressure area that will form off the Atlantic coast. The exact dynamics of the interaction are still unclear.
Likely rain from midday or evening Thursday. Earlier timing would be more likely to include a wintery mix before changing over to rain Thursday night into Friday morning. Rain ending Friday afternoon.
As of this morning, this is all rain, but there is a possibility of sleet mixing in, especially Thursday morning. North and West of SOMA wintery mix, sleet, and snow are more likely.
