Possible but NOT LIKELY snow event early next week (1/29-31)

The NWS is tracking a system the should develop off shore, and stay there.

Normally, I wouldn't even mention this one, but the last two to hit us started out offshore and then the models corrected west, so I am being perhaps overly cautious.

This system is not a major storm in any event, worst case scenario is 6" if it shifts massively west, much farther than the other two did.

Actual forecast at this time is less than 50/50 chance of any snow at all.

Max - what are your thoughts now?   Hoping not to have to deal with snow as I drive an hour south tomorrow morning.

looks like the forecast is well over the freezing mark - i doubt we’ll get any snow accumulation.

Forecast shows two separate storms, one in the morning which will be east of us and the other in the afternoon in our area when the temperatures will be lower.  ABC is predicting trace to an inch.

Snow showers and flurries.  No significant accumulatiin.

Clearly it was a snow shower that I saw the effects of when I walked out of my house very early this AM. On my stretch of the sidewalk there were 4 or so squares that had a dusting and then there were 4 or so squares that showed just wetness. Nothing else but some intermittent snow shower could explain that now that the Great and Powerful Max has labelled the aforementioned phenomenon.  smile
