Official Dallas Cowboys Thread (the others aren't; litigation pending)

Please note that the other Cowboy threads are not authorized by the team. For reasons I cannot go into, this one is. Let's just leave it at that.

Everyone is excited about our trip to New Orleans. Vote yes or no for the following:

1. Brandon Weeden is not a top tier quarterback, but 22 for 26 and 232 yards is pretty darn good for a backup's first start in a long time.

2. Matt Cassel is a real pro and he is picking up the Cowboy system quickly in case we need him on short notice.

3. Wait till Greg Hardy, Randy Gregory, Rolando McLain, Bryant and Romo are back on the field. We’ll incinerate everyone. Count on it.

4. That’s too bad about Orlando Scandrick!

5. There's a picture below of a Cowboy party I went to last year.

6. I have a picture of myself watching the Cowboys during week 2 against the Eagles which I will upload later.

7. Three games into the season, DeMarco Murray has 11 yards for the Eagles.

8. Joseph Randle has 203. My projection is a 1,000+ yard season.

9. Sure, the Patriots will probably beat us. Maybe the Packers, too. F#%& them, A-holes. Especially the serial ceaters Brady and Belichick.

10. I would buy a throw-back, old-style Cowboys cap with the blue star logo if they become available.

Everyone is so excited for me this season!

Greg Hardy is back this week! He's very excited to play Tom Brady and hopes his pretty wife will be in attendance.

Who is Greg Hardy, you may ask... well, Greg has been enjoying a respite from football following a very long suspension for slightly mistreating his girlfriend. Let the news reporter tell you:

Greg Hardy is a young man who has been known to tackle a quarterback or two, as well as his one-time girlfriend.

For the former, he has received the usual accolades. For the latter, he was kicked out of the NFL with pay for all but one game last season, then without pay for the first four games of this season.
Now he’s back, and he’s talking. Unlike Ray Rice, though, he isn’t apologizing for his acts of domestic violence. No, he’s telling jokes that he thinks are funny. He’s talking about Tom Brady’s wife. And other wives. And he’s calling his time away from the game “the most awesome period of my life, man. I’m a Dallas Cowboy. Dream come true.”

If there’s one man in professional sports who should be contrite, it’s Hardy. Clearly, he doesn’t have it in him.

In July 2014, Hardy was found guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Nicole Holder, and threatening to kill her. He appealed the judge’s ruling and asked for a jury trial. In February, prosecutors in North Carolina said charges would be dropped when Holder, who was paid a settlement by Hardy, could not be found.

Hardy threw Holder onto a futon covered with at least four semiautomatic rifles and three other guns, dragged her by her hair from room to room, shoved her against a wall and put his hands around her neck, applying enough pressure to leave visible marks.

Go Cowboys!

I love this official thread. I wish I could share why, but lets leave it at that. The Cowboys just might endorse crap from Ligeti.

I've been trying to keep this thread alive but I think the title is just driving people away...

Dallas is the most watched team.

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/which-nfl-team-are-you-stuck-watching-every-sunday/

I will also add that I like the cheerleaders - Jerry has obviously purchased them because they are very sexy and compliant. Err.. edited to add... I mean to say that Jerry Jones is an outspoken champion of women's rights and would never equate a woman's looks with her value as a human being, regardless of how he may be mis-quoted in the press (or mis-photographed with prostitutes). In fact, Jerry goes out of his way to pick up as many wife-beaters as possible so that he can coach them and turn them into kinder, gentler people who are truly remorseful of their past mistakes. Just take Greg Hardy as an example - no one is more obviously reformed than Greg. Go Cowboys!

Unfortunately Jerry's holistic brand of "healing leadership" doesn't seem to be reaching all the Cowboys players. I guess some folks just don't have that forgiving Cowboy nature:

http://nypost.com/2015/04/24/hardy-in-cowboys-teammate-dustup-after-woman-beater-taunt/

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy was involved in a verbal altercation with backup defensive lineman Davon Coleman at the team’s facility on Friday and had to be separated by teammates, sources have told FOX Sports.

The dispute between Hardy and Coleman arose from Hardy’s questioning Coleman’s effort during conditioning drills, a source said. The situation escalated when, according to a source, Coleman took a dig at Hardy’s domestic violence issues.

“[Coleman] called him a woman beater,” the source said.

Hardy is working out with his new teammates after signing with the team earlier this month. He was suspended 10 games for a violation of the league’s personal conduct policy following charges of domestic abuse last year, though he’s permitted to take part in the team’s offseason program.

Coleman’s agent, Michael Loeffler, confirmed there was a confrontation between Hardy and his client, though Loeffler said it was only a verbal argument and not a physical fight. Sources said teammates got in between the two players before the argument could escalate.

Hardy signed a one-year deal worth a base value of $11,311,600, though there’s no guaranteed money in the deal. Hardy also has $9.25 million tied up in per-game roster bonuses — $578,125 for each game active.

I feel bad that this thread has so few participants... kind of pitiful, really... so I thought, "now that I have an official statement from Jerry Jones' office, let me put it on the official thread".

From Dallas: There is absolutely NO TRUTH to the rumor that Dez Bryant and Greg Hardy were arguing over who's the more manly and aggressive woman-beater.

So that's that. That closes the book on that... kind of like the book on Dallas going to the playoffs this year, sadly. I love it when Dallas limps into the playoffs - it was so much fun last year, if they miss this year I'm going to be really, really bummed.

Great Hardy was just being passionate

Is that like being 'romantic'? You know, where you throw your girl onto a pile of semiautomatic weapons, put your hands around her throat and tell her how much she means to you?

Now... I'm not going to speculate on why this "official" Cowboys thread has been abandoned. There are lots of possible reasons. I'm just hoping one of those reasons is not "too busy making letter bombs", but that's another story for another day.

I loved this article. Woot called it... Greg Hardy WAS being "passionate". Jerry Jones fully supports Greg because, you know, Greg is such an awesome human being and all. It's pure 100% Cowboys! Everyone is excited that Greg "don't make me slap you to show you how much I love you" Hardy is on the team!

Dallas defensive end Greg Hardy and injured receiver Dez Bryant, who was not dressed for the game, appeared to get into an animated verbal exchange on the sideline during Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Giants.
Hardy's intense discussion with Bryant followed immediately after he broke into the special-teams huddle to berate his teammates after they gave up a decisive 100-yard kickoff return by New York's Dwayne Harris.

After Harris sped the length of the field for the winning points in the Giants' victory, Hardy broke into the subsequent special-teams huddle before New York kicked off with 7:01 remaining.
Safety Danny McCray, a member of the unit, said the passionate Hardy even "pushed me a little bit."
NBC television footage later aired showing Hardy confronting a coach Pro Football Talk identified as special-teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia and getting into an angry shouting match with him and swiping at a clipboard Bisaccia was holding.

ESPN's Josina Anderson caught up with Bryant in the MetLife Stadium tunnel after the game and asked him about his heated exchange with Hardy.
"There is no issue," Bryant said. "That's just football. People want to make nothing into something, especially when we lose. That's just football."

Hardy, when asked about it after the game, issued a half-dozen "no comments" to questions in the locker room, then turned his back to the media.

"Greg Hardy is such a passionate player,'' McCray said. "He's all over the place. He's in the defensive huddle, the offensive huddle, and today he made our special-teams huddle. I was a little surprised he was in there. ... I didn't realize who it was. Then I realized it was Greg. He was showing his passion that we gave up the lead and we needed to fix it.

"It's football. Those guys love each other, and we'll get in the meetings tomorrow and talk it over. We'll see what the coach says about it. [Hardy] was just trying to get us fired up.'' Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said the incident was not an issue and that he thought Hardy was attempting to encourage the special-teams unit. However, the reactions from those in the huddle would seem to indicate otherwise. Regardless, Garrett was not concerned about the incident. "I was standing right there,'' Garrett said after Dallas (2-4) lost its fourth straight game.

"To be a good football player and a good football team, you have to have passion and put it all out there. Sometimes in a game, things don't go well and you have a response. A pro football coach and a pro football team understand that those things happen. You want the guys with passion.

"It was coming off the football field. That happens, you encourage guys, you try to get guys excited. You try to get guys ready for the next challenge. I believe from my vantage point, that's what he was doing.''
Dez Bryant could be seen getting into an intense shouting match with Greg Hardy on the sideline following the key Giants kickoff return that sparked Hardy to rip the Dallas kick coverage team late in the game. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said after the game he did not see the altercation, but when it was described to him he had no issue with it.

"As a matter of fact, I would encourage it," Jones said.

A coach appeared to shove Hardy out of the huddle before he got involved with a couple of other players.
"He's of course one of the real leaders on this team and he earns it," Jones said of Hardy. "He earns it with the respect from all of his teammates. That's the kind of thing that inspires. You watched him warm up out there and he was inspirational nothing but warming up. He was ready to play. He's just getting guys ready to play, in my view. I don't have any issue with him being involved in motivating or pushing in any part of the football team because he plays and walks the walk."

Hardy is in his first season with Dallas and missed the first four games while suspended under the NFL's personal conduct policy. Hardy played only one game for the Carolina Panthers in 2014 and spent the rest of the season on the commissioner's exempt list with full pay. He signed with the Cowboys as a free agent earlier this year.

Hardy was convicted last year of assault on a female and communicating threats in a case involving a former girlfriend. But the charges were dismissed in February after prosecutors said the accuser in the case couldn't be found.

He signed with Dallas in March and then was suspended for 10 games by the NFL for conduct detrimental to the league, a penalty that was later reduced to four games.

Information from ESPN's Todd Archer and Jean-Jacques Taylor and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Well folks... based on the login records it's clear that this thread has been abandoned. I'm going to step up and moderate it, in the interest of providing a fair and balanced viewpoint on the subject of how much the Cowboys (and their fans) truly suck.

Let's begin with the seminal post:

Please note that the other Cowboy threads are not authorized by the team. For reasons
I cannot go into, this one is. Let's just leave it at that.

Everyone is excited about our trip to New Orleans. Vote yes or no for the following:

2. Matt Cassel is a real pro and he is picking up the Cowboy system quickly in

Edited: The ‘Boys needed Cassel to step up and fill in for Romo on 10/25 against the Giants and he answered the call –THREE interceptions! Not even Tony could usually produce so many!

3. Wait till Greg Hardy, Randy Gregory, Rolando McLain, Bryant and Romo are back
on the field. We’ll incinerate everyone. Count on it.

Edited: Greg Hardy's victim... err, ex-girlfriend... is probably thrilled he's back on the field. That means she can collect her settlement AND she knows he won't be coming over to beat the crap out of her for those 4 hours.

4. That’s too bad about Orlando Scandrick!
5. There's a picture below of a Cowboy party I went to last year.

Everyone is so excited for me this season!

I will, of course, continue to re-edit this post as the season progresses (and the losses pile up). I will also continue to post Official NFL news and reactions as appropriate.

Just don't ask me to tell anyone to blow it out their ass - I can't see myself sinking so low.

I am doing all I can to head off THE HATERS and continue to promote how awesome the Cowboys used to be... err, I mean are! How awesome the Cowboys ARE. But how can I do it all by myself?

Quick update on the Official thread:

8. Joseph Randle has 203. My projection is a 1,000+ yard season.

Edited to add: Unless he is suspended for terrorizing his girlfriend and child by breaking windows and threatening them with a gun. Those silly Cowboys, always finding new ways to have fun!

Jason Garrett has everything under control. Just kidding. He can't control anyone.

That's Jerry's fault though - Jerry should step down as GM and appoint someone with prison-guard experience in his place.

This thread is so hard to keep Cowboys-Friendly... where the heck are all the fans?

9. Sure, the Patriots will probably beat us. Maybe the Packers, too. F#%& them, A-holes. Especially the serial cheaters Brady and Belichick.

Cowboy Victory Protocols have been... well... delayed. I'll let you know when they come back online, probably as soon as the 'Boys play a team with worse record than the Seahawks.

Go Cowboys! See you in February!

Well... I'm sure you're not alone. It can be hard to be a Cowboys fan. I tried being one for the last few days and it was damn near impossible.
