But how about that Bears Eagles finish!!!???? How did that ball NOT go through the uprights? Glad I was mildly pulling for the Eagles. Had to hurt being a Bears fan.
Go RAMS!
Apparently the ball was tipped ever so slightly.
I never understood how another team can call timeout after the players are already in motion at the line.
NFL is hypocritical in they will call an unsportsman like penalty for celebrating in the end zone but it is so bush league they will allow the referees to work with the coaches to call a timeout at the last possible moment. Just a joke (and I was rooting for the Eagles).
To make it even more punishing on Parkey it hit the upright and then the crossbar.
He hit the upright 4 times in 1 game and 1 more time last week. What are the odds of a kicker doing that? The feild is 53 yds wide and he manages to hit a bar that is less than a foot round 6 times in one season. With that type of luck he needs to change fields (no pun intended) or try being a punter.
You have to give Parkey credit for how he handled the media as they surrounded him at his locker.
You think of a mid range field goal a easy until they give you the camera angle from right behind the kicker, in which case it looks like there's about an inch between the goalposts.
they have officially changed it to a blocked kick because a defender got a hand in it.

I guess officially it has to be. But I don't think that made a difference. Parkey really hit it badly.
I was happy to see one of Parkey's teammates immediately come up and put an arm around him. And I thought Foles was notably subdued in his on-field comments. He knows this stuff could happen to anyone.
(still, fly Eagles fly)
On a (sort of) related topic, nice article in today's Ledger about the Chargers' kicker from Summit H.S.

he was their QB. Chargers need to run a fake and pitch it back to him to throw a pass!

Against the Pats, I think that's a great idea.

typically classy Eagles fan move
Eagles fans are evidence that evolution can go in reverse.
