need recommendation for a ductless mini split system contrator

ISO a contractor to put in a ductless minisplit system in our house. Always looking for a good deal. Recommendations please.

We're talking about the A/C units, right? if so, i've been curious about these as well. I know every house is different, but what kind of price range can one expect?

We got a ductless system installed in the Spring by Cool Effects (Anthony Nicosia). We got a single large unit on our ground floor and it cost under $5000. The main driver for wanting it was the noise of our existing window units on that floor and we were very impressed with how quiet it is and how well it kept the floor cool. It replaced two large window units. We would definitely recommend looking at them. The only problem we had with our install was getting permits from South Orange. Since we live on a corner lot and the only place that made sense to put the unit was on a side of the house that faces a street sent them into weeks of confusion as to what to do. There already is a permitted fence on the sidewalk, so not sure why they had to think about it so much, but government moves at its own speed!

Last spring we got an estimate from Speer Air in Denville, NJ for installation of a ductless system. They were recommended on MOL in a previous thread. We held off on having the job done until next spring. The total cost was about $15k for one HVAC unit in attic to cool the second floor and two ductless units on the ground floor. House is about 1350 Sq. Ft.

superior tech. Got an estimate for a mini split and a high velocity but then was convinced to do a traditional a/c. MUCH better price than anyone else and the service was superb! So glad I listened to him.
