Interesting piece. I'm happy to see an assortment of styles and positions.  She seems to be the type of centrist Dem who can seduce some of the Independents to vote Dem in 2020. I'm never enthusiastic about a call for more military spending, but she knows more about it than I do. She also seems cautious about Medicare for All. I can understand that kind of caution. We'll see what plans are presented as the presidential candidates hit the campaign trail.

On the other hand I like AOC's hard push for an agenda to fight climate change, but would have liked her GND to focus only on that. Her health agenda and jobs for all plans, could have been placed in separate document.

And that's how I assume many Dems will evaluate the freshmen. Most will bring a few attributes that we love and a couple we disagree with.  I'll withhold judgment until I watch them in committee hearings, and see them present arguments on the House floor.

Congratulations to her for flipping a district.

The article makes Mikie sound a lot like a moderate Republican.

It will be interesting to see how she navigates a more centrist ideology.  A lot of progressives in NJ backed her candidacy because her campaign was heavily based on being anti-Trump.

Very soon saying a politician sounds like a Moderate Republican will be like saying she sounds like a Whig.
