terribly sad. Heartbroken for her family and loved ones.

It is an epic tragedy for a thirteen-year-old when your mom leaves you in this way.

my heart breaks for that poor child. The sheer devastation

According to info on the net today ,  she dealt with Bi Polarity for years.  She had been diagnosed and planned to attend a clinic in California.  At the last minute she chose not to as it might tarnish the " image of light and breezy her products projected........in other words her presents there might harm her business.  Her husband and relatives did all they could to get her help.

Short of involuntary commitment.......they were helpless

It was an odd coincidence that she was a Jeopardy answer the night before.

i read that a sister no one spoke with for many years is the one talking about alcoholism and mental Heath treatment, so who knows.

I think no matter what she may have felt regarding her business or her marriage/relationships, hanging oneself is something only someone in need of serious help would do.

I'm a bit embarrassed to admit I had never heard of her before.

It's OK. I'm not much into women's stuff, either.

Andy Spade, her husband, felt compelled to clarify some of the less reliable coverage of this sad event, including the question of whether she was seeking "serious help."

With the greatest sympathy for the family of Kate Spade,  I submit the following............a lesson I have been spouting my entire adult life.

With great wealth does not necessarily come great happiness.  RIP

As a so-called suicide "survivor," this doesn't surprise me in the least.
