Jets or Giants?

As I am not a local person, originally, which team is the more popular team in this area? I want to take my kids to a American football game. I’m just not sure which team we should route for.

Well I'm Jets fan so without trying to be biased - the Giants are the far more popular team. They've had greater success and blue/red/white is popular color to the Jets Green/white and recently black. Giants have been around for a longer period of time. 

Tickets will likely run the same price for both teams. The Jets are set to have a strong season so what used to be smaller crowds attending their games may be far more packed.

There are cheerleaders (flight crew) and superfans i.e. (Fireman Ed, Boba Jett) at Jet games, so there is a bit more hype and excitement at those games. 

The Jets opener is on 9/11 which is a special day for any NY team to have a game that day. 

The Jets play the Giants 8/26 in preseason so that's an opportunity to see them both play. Preseason games are much cheaper than season games too. 

Beyond that some basic things to consider is what colors do you like? Do you like a team with a proven franchise or the underdog looking to prove themselves. Maybe look at their histories, videos of their best games/moments and individual players and see who you or your children gravitate to. Or... Be like my friend who roots for and follows both actively. 

It's root not route. And why do you care which is more popular? Perhaps ask your kids which team is attractive to them. If you went that way about deciding which team is more popular then please vote (if you're eligible) always for the Democrats as they have won the popular vote for over 20 plus years. As a liberal progressive I thank you in advance.

my son agrees. He’s says Rodgers is on the jets and he wants to see him play.
