ISO Recommendation For Shoemaker

Need a shhoemaker to repair heel damage on shoes, boots.

There's a spot on Stuyvesant Avenue in Union. Between Vauxhall and Morris. On the left-hand side (going towards Morris). I can never remember the name, but we love the guy.

The Leather Shop , 69 South Orange Ave.  Does great repair work and also can re-sole Birkenstocks. They also create shoes there and have done work for the NY Opera.

A second recommendation for The Leather Shop. They saved a pair of boots for me a couple of years ago. Great work and reasonably priced.

I had great success with the Leather Shop in South Orange a couple of years ago. I was so tempted to buy a custom pair of shoes. They had the leather just sitting out and everything. My husband swears by True Fit. I don't think you can go wrong with either of them (but I am sure someone can prove me wrong... everyone has a story).

Thanks all. I went to the Leather Shop. Very reasonably priced and lot's of people recommend him.

 So, so expensive though...

Another vote for True Fit.  They saved a pair of shoes I nearly threw out.  They do such quality work that my son, unable to find a shoemaker in Madison WI, sent his shoes there to be repaired.  They refurbished a a leather portfolio, a briefcase and somehow took an ink stain out of my Bouoke & Dooney handbag - I bought it onsale but it was still expensive - and matched it perfectly.  I haven't found it particularly expensive given the quality of work.
