interACT's Youth Show - Treasure Island - Rescheduled for 1/28 & 1/29

The Show’s Going On – A Week Late—for interACT Kids’ “Treasure Island”

Makeup Shows are Jan. 28 & 29th at the Baird in South Orange

SOUTH ORANGE –Aaaaaargghhh!!!!

The weather fails to hold back the two casts of 8-13 year olds who star in interACT Theater Productions’ version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s children’s pirate-adventure classic “Treasure Island,’’ which is set for three make-up shows Jan. 28 and Jan. 29 at the Baird cultural center in South Orange.

The show has two complete casts, which perform separately to give more kids the chance to participate and learn. The Friday show will be presented by Cast Swashbucklers at 7:30 p.m., while Cast Buccaneers will perform Thursday at 7 p.m. and Friday at 5:30 p.m. Five other showings all sold out before last week’s snowstorm hit.

Treasure Island is the second interACT Youth production run by the team of Tasha R. Williams (director) and Meara Franowicz (Stage Manager). They led last year’s sold-out shows of Schoolhouse Rock, Jr. as well.

The set was designed by Kevern Cameron, who recently received a Perry nomination for his set of Summit’s Harvey, and whose direction in Doubt,  at Chester's Black River Playhouse, was recently recognized with a NJ Footlights Award (http://www.njfootlights.net/2016/01/2015-footlight-awards.html).
