Everyone ok after that earthquake?

Thank you for asking.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Joanne would have felt it, as she lives a fair way north of the epicentre.

On the other hand, I live only about 120-odd miles from the epicentre and was woken by the 'quake!  I heard this low rumbling sound and felt the bed shaking. It took me a couple of seconds to realise I wasn't dreaming.

I turned on the radio to a local talk station, heard what they were speaking about, and decided it wasn't just a very low flying transport jet or a large truck passing nearby.

We only knew because they (there were several) became the main topic of conversation and political humour… All my friends and family are fine, including those living in the area. The livestock, however, were really perturbed. Expect milkshakes and butter instead of your usual  litre of full cream milk delivery cheese

As long as the message gets through...

That reminds me of the t-shirt the guy on 'The Flash' wore - "There are two sorts of people: those who can extrapolate from limited data."

Also known as a Jewish vuvuzela.

And while I'm on the theme ...

I was reading comments on another video, which suggested that this (original) version was filmed for 'private use', but got out and went viral.

I find the song somewhat mesmerising.

This version - by the group Quorum - came out a little later and appears to be fairly faithful to the original

If you look around, there are now a number of versions to be found on the interwebs.

Why the metric system rules.

It only requires a little study

So that’s what I’m doing wrong - not enough wine!  wink

I went to a medical school when I was younger.

At the entrance exam, we were asked to arrange PNEIS to form the name of an important human body part which is most useful when erect.

These who answered SPINE are doctors today, while the rest are on Facebook...

Saw this in passing on a social media site where a question was asked about Vegemite, after someone spotted a jar in the fridge.

I just tell people it’s made from beer yeast  wink oh oh totally changes their expectations.

It’s not fairy bread, folks, it’s super-salty! That’s why it’s yummy! Now fairy bread…  wink

I grew up on marmite. It’s the saltiest black paste. My mom used to put it in soups. And us kids would dip toasted bread in it. It’s actually good for you despite all the saltiness.

Yes, it has quite a lot of Vitamin B, as the note on the label shows.

Mothers are encouraged to feed it to their children.

Let me count the ways...

Cartoonist blues must be doing the rounds cheese (ref: First Dog)

Not that I saw the original either, but, anyway...

Photographer Wayne Painter, of Hobart in Tasmania, took this shot.

Stolen from a social media (as well as a YouTube) site featuring a webcam focussing on a new family of peregrine falcons who've been growing up on a ledge on a Melbourne (Australia) city building for the past few weeks.

It's raining, I'm hungry, my wings are exhausted from flapping, my floof mohawk is disappearing, my little sibling is no fun, my parents are hassling me to fly, and I have no privacy. But the view's phenomenal!

Have you seen how rapidly the price of Kosher meat has been rising lately?

It must be infleischin!

(I'll save you the effort ... )
