Ideas for Downtown NYC Tomorrow

Looking for something to do after lunch in downtown NYC tomorrow. Gonna have lunch on Stone Street (restaraunt recs?)with my visiting SIL and my kids who work down there will join us.Then we want to hang out downtown. It's gonna be 90 so I think the Tenement Museum will be too hot (no a/c) Anything nice to do outdoorsy? LMK and TIA

South Street Seaport, World Trade Center memorial (both indoors and outside). I'd walk or subway up a bit and walk the Hudson River Park in the Greenwich Village area, or the High Line starting around 12th St. on west side. New Whitney Museum of American Art is right there.

South Street Seaport was my first thought, too. Plenty of indoor options with a/c if it gets too hot outside, but I always love wandering around down by the water.

Museum of the American Indian in the old Customs House right where Broadway forks off. It is now an extension of the Smithsonian's collection in D.C. They had an outstanding Native American jewelry exhibit a couple of months ago. Revolving and permanent exhibits and the building itself is really cool to check out. Stone St. runs right into the side of the building I believe.

I work in the trade center and have been to the memorial. Opt for the observatory instead. The museum/memorial is pretty heavy. You have to be in the proper frame of mind to experience it.

South Street Seaport ain't what it used to be. The pier is demolished and many of the stores have closed. Sandy did a number on it. I'd skip it for the time being

It is going to be hot, but if you're up to walking, the walk from the Battery up the west side to Battery Park City along the river is very nice. Might be a breeze off the harbor. Skyscraper museum, holocaust museum, Irish Hunger memorial, and lots of public art is there too. If not, Century 21 is having a big clearance sale right now - lots of European tourists..

Take the subway to Brooklyn, check out Bk'lyn Heights, including the promenade with knock-out views several storeys above the river, and WALK back over the B. Bridge. Don't let anyone try to sell you the bridge.

Ohhhhhhh, man. I had no idea... it's been a long time since I was last there. That makes me really, really sad.
